wow, i am super jealous. on 11/10 and 11/11 are the two most interesting looking sets of marc ribot's residency at the stone. marc ribot is an experimental guitarist with an incredible ear for improv and noise...easily one of my favorite guitar players, everything i have seen him do is just incredible. here's a good vid of marc with my favorite project of his, ceramic dog;
here are the dates, the stone does not sell tickets in advance fyi. id encourage everyone who is able to go see a show at the stone before march 2018, they are closing down the current location of the stone in the village and will be presenting shows at another existing venue in the future.
>>>11/10 Friday (RBHW)
830 pm
SONGS OF RESISTANCE
Marc Ribot (guitar) Shahzad Ismaily (percussion, bass, keys) Briggan Krauss (sax)
11/11 Saturday (RKFM)
8:30 pm
MARC RIBOT TRIO
Marc Ribot (guitar) Henry Grimes (bass) Chad Taylor (drums)
other than that the only recommendation id give is to see local NYC music, there is so much incredible stuff going on there every night that it would be a shame to go see a band that tours frequently and will come thru your area soon anyway. NYC is the best city in the country for good jazz music, there should be killer jam sessions every night at 55 bar, with no cover albiet a 2 drink min, and the guys from JRAD often play improptu sets with various musicians around the city, but they will be playing west coast shows on these dates so no deal there. im sure some NYC-area zoners could give you a list of venues to check out for good local improv and interesting music. i always keep an eye on le poision rouge when i visit NYC.
the jazz in marciac link has some really strong work from ribot right in the first few min of the set, as well as some really strong work on the skins from joey baron.

Leftover Salmon at the City
Leftover Salmon at the City Winery still has tables/seats for 11/10
http://www.citywinery.com/newyork/tickets.html?event_date=2017-11-10
I am going to see Freddie Mc Gregogor at the Boulton Center 11/11
So far there are only 24 seats sold of 250. I spoke to the theater director and the show is still going to happen.
It will be great. Bayshore Long Island is fun. Let me know if I can be of any help

Thank you.
It's a nice day today to be in NYC. 11/10 could go either way.
So glad, I live on Long Island.
