The Americans

Forums:

One episode left, and there's a lot to cover.
Looks like they're ready to bolt (to NH?).
I can't figure out why she didn't kill her handler after spilling the beans. They have both the FBI and the KGB looking for them now.

How will it end?

Best show on TV! Elizabeth is one fucked up woman.

No idea in hell how it’s going to end.

Love this show. I've been watching all 5 seasons for the last few months.

I like watching these kinds of shows w/out the commercials. The fade to blacks into the next scene gains momentum all the way to the last one w/the credits, instead of crashing into a pile of feces at every corner.

Great show.

I was expecting her handler to at least try and kill Elizabeth, no way would she just let her walk. And Elizabeth would have killed the bitch or at least been more cautious. maybe I need to back and watch that scene and see if Elizabeth spiked the soup..

She never got near the soup. I don't think she took her hands out of her coat pockets.

I think the FED dude's girlfriend is KGB

^ Interesting.

Yeah, pretty sure there were some hints dropped about the girlfriend

Elizabeth and Philip questioned if she was KGB last season.

could just be a RED Herring though.

Show jumped the shark with the whole daughter learning the trade plot line.....

Totally agree with that, Fitzman. The Paige character has curbed my enthusiasm for the show considerably.

I expect FBI dude's girlfriend if she's KGB to kill him next episode, but maybe he'll kill her instead. Then again, I thought Elizabeth was going to kill her aunt so maybe not.

Paige has always been an annoying character with marginal storylines. Without that shit, though, this his season wouldn’t be as good.

Captian, we have gone full Beeman! I'm getting Beeman readings higher than we ever thought possible!

No comments from the zone?

It was contrived BS as all finales go; especially the garage scene.  No way it would have gone down that way in real life; Stan got played big time by Phillip (loved the parting shot about his girlfriend might be one of us; I don't know)

>>>I can't figure out why she didn't kill her handler after spilling the beans.

They liked each other. That's the reason.

Elizabeth didn't have many friends and the ones she had, it didn't turn out too well for them.

She wasn't going to try to kill Claudia--and vice versa.

I'm wondering what Martha does when she runs into Phillip at the market with her daughter?

>>>>(loved the parting shot about his girlfriend might be one of us;)

Parting shot?

He told him because he liked him---if he didn't like him, he wouldn't have told him.

Watched the 6 seasons in the last two months.  This is definitely the way to watch these shows, at least for me. Did pretty much the same thing with Breaking Bad.

I thought that it was a very fitting finale. They went to America with nothing but their ranks in the KGB, and they returned home with nothing but their ranks. Even their kids were ultimately just part of their cover.

It left me wondering if they would be treated like heroes for their service and sacrifice for country, or if the KGB would off them for thwarting the little plot.

NPR aired a fascinating piece on The Americans and  it's depiction of  spy activities.

When the got out of the car at the end they should've played the song Russians by Sting.

"I hope the Russians love their children too"

Can't believe they used Brothers in Arms.

What was Sorkin thinking?

it seemed like a bad idea to go back to russia, especially since they immediately met with the kgb as opposed to the gorbachev people.  i would go out on a limb and say that they were never heard from again.  pretty awesome that i can say this show is in my top 5 of all time.  sad to see it go.
