All Hail The Organ Donors!

Forums:

My wife of 22 years, Linda, has bravely offered to donate a kidney to her brother, Michael, in NYC.

She has not posted here since joining under Her Name Was McGill, but she called herself Lil angel.

(Gotta love everyone who knew her as Nancysmiley).

Linda has been in NYC since Wednesday the 6th undergoing testing.

The transplant surgery is on December 13th and the return flight to Ohio is on December 24th.

I miss the love of my life!

That's awesome.

God bless your wife, and here's hoping the procedure goes well for both her & her brother.

Yeah, God Bless your wife on this decision.

Gift of life ... that there is some true love!

Please pass along my regards to Linda. She is strong, courageous and generous to donate her kidney. It's a beautiful thing. Much love. Of course you miss her, she's your person, and she sounds like a very special person.

Here's some cake for both of you, and brother Michael, too.

Now that's a gift that keeps on giving, and some truly big big LOVE

All blessings for a safe and successful procedure.

Thank you for all the kind words Zoners! smiley

I have an update on the procedure. The transplant has been postponed indefinitely.

The EKG test results for Linda have indicated she has a leaky heart valve.

She must return to Ohio and see a cardiologist to fix the valve problem before the transplant can proceed. Linda, Michael and family are devastated by the news.

The silver lining is that the heart condition may have been fatal for her within the next ten years if it went undiagnosed.

I will update the thread as developments warrant. Thanks again for the love! heart

That's such a letdown for all of them, and of course there's the silver lining part... long live Linda!

Yes, please let us know how Linda's repair goes, and on from there. Best hopes and wishes.

Sorry about the setback.

Linda rocks.
