ahses, ashes

Forums:

anyone ever have a memorial keepsake made of a dead loved ones ashes?

after having my father's for over a decade, am having a thing made for myself and each kid.

funny that my girly thinks my dead baby's hair ring is creepy and is ok with grandpa as a ring. getting it in peridot for his leo bday

who else has done this and how do you like it?

When my dad died it was 101 1/2 Neptune society picked up his body in Palo Alto and his ashes were scattered near the Golden Gate Bridge I love going to Terrapin Crossroads when the sun is going down and I can visit with him it's just freaking awesome

And mom a visualize at the cliffs at Bonny Doon whete the monarch butterflies used to gather as the whales pass by

I love my parents and I was a very Lucky Lad

I asked Stiney to make "marbles" using Greg's ashes in the glass. She did a wonderful job, and they are very beautiful. An interesting thing is that the ashes are sort of sparkly within the glass, not opaque like ash. I had them made for Greg's kids, and our grandkids. Grandkid #1 will get hers in October when she turns 8. She sleeps with the one made for her dad under her pillow and made a little bed for it. I think there are around 6 of them still here. One of my sisters has one, my mom had 1 or 2 til she died, they're pretty special. A special friend has one that's perfectly clear except for the sparkly ashes.
