After the Springsteen tour is over, make sure you see...

Little Steven and The Disciples of Soul. I will make this offer right now. Buy a ticket when the tour is announced, and if you don't like show, I will pay for your ticket. 

First off the Springsteen tour. I ended up getting a last second ticket while I was on Long Island on Easter Sunday with family. Since I was only 5 mins from the venue, I said, "Why the hell not?" First time sitting behind the stage. Not a fan of that but I WAS and AM a fan of the current touring band. Besides the core E-Street Band members, the stage is filled out with equal part members of the most recent tours and The Seegar Sessions band. 

Wowza! 

As usual in E-Street tours on the first leg of the tour, the set list was fairly static. Still Bruce on a regular old night is better than just about anybody else touring. I know things will get more interesting in Europe in the coming weeks and by the time they get back to the US and stadiums, you can expect one of the best concerts you will ever see.

I enjoyed the show and had fun, but the real fun was last night with Steve Van Zandt and his band doing a trio of shows during the 2 week hiatus from the Springsteen tour. This band had a grand total of 2 full days of rehearsal and came out in championship form. The music is pretty much steeped in 60's rock and soul. and as powerful as anything from the past. I'm still swirling in my thoughts about the show but I know what I like and like it I did. Really liked it. Fucking loved it. 6 piece horns, the way talented Marc Ribler on guitar. a trio of background singers that were spiritually and physically descended from The Ikettes and more. There was a slouch in the bunch and it didn't matter if the music was rock or soul or pop or salsa, it all hit with that special thing that happens when both the performers and audience have more than the usual connection. 

To put it in perspective, I haven't even downloaded the photos I took last night. They will come later. Both last night and the night before were professionally filmed so I believe all will have an opportunity to see, hear and feel what I did last night. You are very lucky for that.
