Did you eat the rice?

Went to Titos with my Dad and Grandpa all the time as a little kid.

I never order rice - file pic

I was at Tito' s yesterday.  Although they have come into the 21st century and except cards for payment now, the service is still ridiculously slow.

when will they figure it out?

my suggestion would be an assmebly line.

Not many reasons to go to Concord, California, here's one of the better ones...

Tortilleria El Molino

Orlando - Gringo's

Clermont -Julio's

Tampa -Taco Bus

A good authentic place like Julio's has Mexican Coke

Brazos Tacos in Charlottesville.

Being from San Diego I'm more of a burrito guy.  I've been having to adapt as Fresnos burrito scene isn't great but turns out it's the taco capital of the world.  There are taco trucks on almost every corner and a billion storefronts too.  Even Fresnos minor league baseball team (The Grizzleys) plays as the Fresno Tacos every Tuesday complete with taco uniforms and a mascot named Cilantro Gomez.

My favorite spot right now is a truck called Chuy's, and my favorite taco meat there is lengua.

Is a crisp taco really a taco?

Soft corn tortilla tacos or STFU.

Taqueria Alonzo is the local authentico go-to in Corvallis.

There are many regions and different styles of cooking in Mexico.  I prefer Baja food.

I imagine most Mexicans view hardshell Tacos like most Americans view Chicago style pizza.

the absolute best tacos in northern CA are at Taqueria El [email protected]

yes, its called El [email protected] dont know why, they dont have a website or any social media. just the best fucking tacos ever. none of the hard shell stuff like the pleebs posting above...real tacos, just corn tortilla, meat, onion, and cilantro. huge pickle and salsa bar. great rice and beans, on the side of course...never in the tacos.

its right in the shit on international blvd in oakland...half the dining room is a partially outdoor shanty-shack like structure.

but again, youd have to go to mexico for better tacos

Mi Burrito on Lombard and Albina has changed the dynamic of Mexican food in North Portland.  Blows away the reigning champ King Burrito and even the nearby 24 hour Javiers.  Family owned, fresh ingredients, generous portions, and unbelievable prices.  Also, never once screwed up a take out order even though it's ESL.  Don't how they have survived and thrived with those prices, but not complaining.

I trust you.

You don't have to make the guacamole at my table.

When you say "right in the shit" what do you mean?

What do you think "right in the shit" means?

tacoplace.jpg

Definitely prefer soft tacos.  Usually three, carne asada, carnitas, and pollo.  Used to get the lengue when I loved in SE LA.

Here in Seattle, Rancho Bravo is the king.  They started as taco trucks, and now have four locations around town, with their own fixed spaces.

They're traditional Mexican food.  They opened one two spaces away from a Chipotle, up around the corner on University Ave.

Cilantro Gomez?

Probably has a wicked curveball.

I have no idea, McDoob.

Al pastor for me.

It's Closed Now but there was a Place called Guadalara in Santa Monica ca - their Crunchy Beef Tacos were PHENOMINAL !

a place in puerto nuevo. can't remember name.

a place in san junaico, its someones house and they open when they feel like it.

>>>When you say "right in the shit" what do you mean?

mcdoobs picture explained it well. on the adjacent blocks you can buy drugs or women in an open air market, lots of obvious gang activity, drug use and homelessness. although on some days during daylight hours you dont see much of that and it is a lively and safe neighborhood with lots of nice latin influence...but sometimes not. have you ever been around the 47th and international area? im pretty sure you knew what i mean and are trying to stir the pot here by discreetly implying that a young suburban white kid is overly afraid of areas like inty or the loin.

its not especially dangerous i dont think...that area of international blvd is mostly used for prostitution, and i think some of the gangs and/or pimps work to keep that area a bit safer so the johns are not afraid to go there. it's "in the shit" for sure, but i feel pretty safe in that area when i stop by for tacos. it gets actually dangerous further down the street, but its mostly fine near el paisa

What kind of food can you get down the street in the more dangerous part of the neighborhood?

Have you tried that place in Concord? It's on my Monday route so I might check it out.

Roarshock, have you tried El Paisa? Me and Esau might have time after school to hit it before golf.

>>>>>What kind of food can you get down the street in the more dangerous part of the neighborhood?

Halal?

I'm so fucking jealous. Our taco joints are overpriced hipster shit, with fancy ingredients and prices. Two for $10, and they are really just sliders.

That plate of food in PLFs 2nd pic would cost well over $50!

The Best Lobster burritos

Little shacks along side of road MP at rinky traffic lights

deposit your bottles drive thru ZZz

SIETE MARES Sopa !! So Freaking Good !

plus La Paz

the entire baja to Cabo for 6 weeks

Taco Bell for us here in the no culture corn belt!

But it's a very easy going lifestyle which is nice.

Love big cities and what they have to offer but love some peace and quiet. No comparison in my book.

"Roarshock, have you tried El Paisa?"

Have not, but I would like to. As for Tortilleria El Molino, I get my ingredients to go -- beans, meat, salsa, tortilla chips and tortillas by the stack. Lots of folks enjoying the good stuff on site too. Definitely worth a stop if you happen to be on Monument Blvd.

Here's another Northern California favorite. It does not get more old school than Mexicali Rose.

Monument is close enough to hit tomorrow(Tuesday).

When in LA, definitely Tito's Tacos!

When in Las Vegas, either Tacos El Gordo or Los Tacos!!

>>>Have you tried that place in Concord?

it is pretty good but i was not blown away. i usually go for a burrito instead of tacos, since the burritos served at most places around here are more bay area regional cuisine than they are mexican food. my favorite burrito of all time is taqueria cancun on mission.

in contra costa my favorite spot is el grullense on pacheco blvd in pacheco, but again for the burritos.

another thing to remember on my mexican recs is that i almost exclusively eat pork when i do any kind of mexican...always carnitas or pastor...most folks i know seem to order more steak and chicken, so i cant really vouch for most places carne asada or pollo...although el paisa has good lengua

Very good tacos. yesyes

Ha ha totally forgot about this thread.

The red truck outside Golden Gate in Stuart is not too shabby. The boy loves the lingua.

the original Fuzzy's: (Motto:  If it smells like a fish and looks like a taco:  Eat it!")

The taco stands in the plaza, Tecoman, Colima, Mexico.

Taqueria El Tapatio

I like Taco Salazar on corner of hwy 212 and hwy 224, near Damascus and Carver Oregon. I like to stop here on the way back from skiing at Mt Hood. It's a semi-permanent food truck next to the Chalice cannabis store
