You are right that if someone is killed by sarin, they are just as equally dead as if they had been beheaded, burned alive, etc. The thing with chemical warfare that makes stand out in the rules of warfare is that it is inherently indiscriminate. With dropping a bomb, you can at least make an effort to make sure it hits only combatants (although it doesn't always work). I know that distinction doesn't matter much to all the Syrians who have had barrel bombs dropped on their neighborhoods, but the international community just doesn't like the concept of chemical weapons because of their inherent indiscriminate nature and that's why chemical weapons have been banned by international treaties and are considered a big no-no.
As for the crucifying and eviscerating, the US and many other countries have been aggressively bombing ISIS for the last year and a half and the US currently has around 1,000 Marines and special forces on the ground in Syria actively working on shutting them down.

You are right that if someone is killed by sarin, they are just as equally dead as if they had been beheaded, burned alive, etc. The thing with chemical warfare that makes stand out in the rules of warfare is that it is inherently indiscriminate. With dropping a bomb, you can at least make an effort to make sure it hits only combatants (although it doesn't always work). I know that distinction doesn't matter much to all the Syrians who have had barrel bombs dropped on their neighborhoods, but the international community just doesn't like the concept of chemical weapons because of their inherent indiscriminate nature and that's why chemical weapons have been banned by international treaties and are considered a big no-no.
As for the crucifying and eviscerating, the US and many other countries have been aggressively bombing ISIS for the last year and a half and the US currently has around 1,000 Marines and special forces on the ground in Syria actively working on shutting them down.
