Hard to believe that it's been 31 years.  Always loved this show, especially the pre-drums.  Never danced so hard in my life as I did during Hand Jive.

Thanks. Going to play the second set tonight. Plus the Box of Rain>Promised Land from the first set.

Looks fun.

I gave this one a spin earlier today!  My friends and I spent the pre show hangout on the delivery dock of an old abandoned building connected to one of the city lots.  A fun and rainy day hitting the beers and other party favors from our dry location.  I remember getting pretty dancey that night.

My 27th Birthday. I think this is the one where myself and some random fellow freaks hid under a panel truck in the Centrum loading dock until the road crew used flashlights to wave us in when the coast was clear... Good times!!!  smiley

I lost the first set but my tape of that second set got many many spins back in the day, maybe more than just about any 87 except 1st night Hampton and 2nd night Roanoke (which I saw, a month before I turned 17). Band is fuggin killing it!!

I'm imagining something like this, but with less panache.

And a sweater vest.  wink

We want Phil!!!   We want Phil!!!

I really enjoyed this show. The Centrum was one of the toughest tickets to score on the east coast if you showed up w out one.

This was my 2nd show, first was Providence 3/31/86.   Willie and the Hand Jive was played at both - so strange.  Energy in '87 was so high on the Spring tour, such a great trip from URI and Bryant College with friends to Worcester.  We too danced all night - ah, to be as free and reckless again would be such a gift!

We were sitting in the front row of the first level right above the entrances onto the floor from the lobby.  One of my great memories is watching the people who were dancing in the lobby suddenly appear below us as they slowly moved in unison out into the floor area.  They would only get so far before the floor security came and pushed them all back into the lobby, disappearing from out sight, before the whole process would begin anew.  They never stopped dancing, just moved around as a unit. It was like having a living organism (The Blob) trying to move into whatever space it could occupy.
