I have seen 35 of these guitarists live

don't get too upset where captain trips is ranked

there are some good players on this list       most do belong

I've seen seven of them. I never had the chance to see a few of them, like Buddy Holly, a few I should have seen by now, and a few I have no desire to see. It's too late to name names right now, or not late enough, but maybe I'll get back to this later.

People sure do like lists though.

don't get too upset where captain trips is ranked<<<

Can he EVER be "ranked"?

(let alone at #40 on that list)

15.

But that's one silly-ass list, even as such lists go.

Ugh these clickbait lists.....No Michael Hedges, Steve Kimock, Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks or Django Reinhardt?   Meh.

Ranking lists are always worthless, but if we're counting/keeping score of who we've seen that's more interesting.

31 for me.

And that's counting Petty & Campbell as one, as they are on that deeply incisive list.

I've seen 16 on that list, 17 if Campbell and Petty count twice.

Hard to put much stock in a list that can't even get Robbie Krieger's name right.

No Danny Gatton?  Meh.

Seen 15 or 16 on that list, surprised there's no Albert Lee, Robert Fripp, Johnny Winter, Steve Howe, etc, let alone Django, Montgomery, Joe Pass, Larry Coryell, McLaughlin, hell, Les Paul should be on there!

Mike Bloomfield, Peter Green, Eddie Hazel, Bill Kirchen, Merle Travis, Kenny Burrell, Clarence White, T-Bone Walker, Leo Kottke, Ernie Isley, Hubert Sumlin, Earl King, Snooks Eaglin, Jimmy Rogers, Tal Farlow, Gabor Szabo, Sandy Bull, John Renbourn, Robert Johnson, Tony Rice, Doc Watson, Dan Crary, Brian Sutton, Don Rich...

Keep going Dave

It might be easy to get a top 250 favorite Zoner guitarists

and would have a bit more  diversity

Jorma, Betts, Cippolina, Winwood.

Johnny Ramone lol. Is it hard for people to just admit that he was trash? Would be cool if people just gave up on these kinda of lists.

Why is Johnny Ramone trash?

12 and that's a dumb list.

Ramone couldn't play shit on a guitar. He played the same three chords every song. He didn't invent anything about that style either. Iggy POP and the stooges did that shit long before them. I just don't see why anyone would try to argue he's a "great" guitarists.

Blah blah blah

Far from "trash"

How many did You see from the list ?

Who would be on Your list?

Title of thread says Decent guitar players..

10 but what a horrible list

13 for this old stoner.

I think the Beatles are the best band of all time, but John Lennon in with lead players? C'mon man.

Opinions- everybody has one...
