I feel like it's Christmas, I thought I had heard all of the 1977 H>S>Fs but I apparently have not looked at all of the April '77 shows close enough. This Palladium show is only available as an AUD but it's not a bad recording at all (Jerry Moore) and wow what a great version, and prob the first looong Franklins. gotta be

On a tour with a few great Scarlet Fires, I'm really interested in hearing the Scarlet > Goin' Down The Road.

I really dug that- I liked how it was the show opener... not sure how often that happened.

I think it was the only show
I think it was the only show opener other than GAMH 8/13/75 (and Norman OK '77) until they did it regularly in the late 80s-early 90s. I think all of them in the early 80s were 2nd set openers
That was how I found this show, I was following the evolution of the Scarlet>Fires from March of '77 until Cornell since they played it nearly every show and were really playing around with it doing different things. No Fire this night but they did a great one on 4/30/77

They opened 6-19-76 with HSF.
They opened 6-19-76 with HSF. You're right in that HSF didn't become a regular show opener until the 90s...3-30 90 actually.
Another interesting fact is that Eyes began its 2nd set opening status (regularly) the night before, 3-29-90.

Ah of course I only forgot
Ah of course I only forgot Buffalo '77 because I listened to it countless times on cassette but not any time recently.
Hampton '89 was the only 2nd set version I saw (and my favorite), 3 other times it was a 1st set opener
