35 years ago, my favorite Dead show (Veneta 82)

Forums:

Yes, so many stories to be told about that day, including the first Day Job and first West LA Fadeaway...   one of the alltime great shows for that era!

Grateful Dead;  Oregon Country Fairgrounds, Veneta Oregon (tickets sold thru the Oregon Creamery).  Ken Kesey introduced the 2nd set!  Duprees Diamond Rag for an encore (first time in years it had been played).

Cold mix on Bertha (no sound check), many great versions of the songs (Epic!)

Yes that was a great day, and along with everything else I was initiated into a secret prankster order by the bull goose loonie himself.

A great day in the sun - luckily not as broiling as the FDFT (72 show)..

A great show and and a really fun day! When I want to hear a sunny day, I play that show.

(Thinking of you, Eddieboy.)

"Listen Kreutzmann, this might seem like a small issue but I wear the fuckin' black shirts around here."

Billy's shirt has a skull on the back so he gets a pass.

There is good footage of this day on YouTube; don't have

the link but "Grateful Dead Veneta" will get you there.

Downtown Deb posted this on FB, very cool!
