330 MIle Run From Bears Ears to the Utah Capitol

Forums:

Davina Smith ran 330 miles from Bears Ears National Monument to bring a medicine bundle to the Utah Sate Capitol.

I was there last night to celebrate this magnificent achievement and took this as she spoke.

Her arrival coincided with the 68th Annual United Nations Civil Society Conference, with 6,000 people from 138 countries taking place in Salt Lake City this week. The three-day conference marks the first time it has been held outside of New York when the United States has been host. This year’s event is focusing on sustainable cities and communities.

SLC, yikes...  at least the Red Iguana makes it all worth while (best Mole sauce?)

Druba, we always get their mole sampler when we go. They bring out a plate with 5-6 different varieties.

The day after her arrival, Davina was speaking to the Salt Lake City Council against a $28 million "tax increment reimbursement" for developers of an "Inland Port" here in Salt Lake.

She's the Executive Director of SLC Air Protectors.  https://www.sltrib.com/news/politics/2019/08/27/salt-lake-city-council/

Currently, we sometimes have the worst air in the nation, and they want to bring this massive polluting project near the Great Salt Lake. And screw the millions of migrating birds.

The lies and secrecy attached to this effort, and it's devastating effects, is off the charts, even for Utah.

The legislature actually stole 25% of the land base of it's capital city in the last days of the session last year, and will be shoving this down our throats. Ironic that they bitch about federal lands and overreach in our state, and then take city land and appropriate it to themselves. What a f'in nightmare.
