For those who can stay on-topic: Pelosi wants to take a three day weekend off before dealing with impeaching trump, doesn't seem like she's taking this very seriously. She was willing to wait for Pence to initiate the 25th amendment before calling for impeachment? I mean, is she new or something? lol.

Pence has to sign for 25th to be invoked which prob won't happen. Impeachment with 12 days left in trumps Presidency won't do much either and the senate would even have time to vote not to mention they don't have the two thirds needed to remove him. For Trump its over and you can be ok and over with trump too if you're willing to just chill out and stay away from the media hype for a week or two.

Pelosi is brilliant as ever.  of course she knows the 25th won't be invoked.  Just dangling another impeachment is all she needs to do to make the point.  They could pass articles of impeachment within hours if they wanted to and who cares if there's never a senate trial.  trump will just be ignored for the next 2 weeks - and for him that's a personal hell.

lol now they're saying mid-next-week for impeachment so I guess Pelosi's going to the beach house instead of the lake. Could it be trump isn't as dangerous as they're saying he is? I thought if Pence didn't enact the 25th they'd take action immediately to impeach him, instead of now giving him the option to resign (I doubt he will) without censure. I guess either way he gets loads of free media time which is what he loves, and the democratic leaders get to stall and act like they're doing stuff while not doing much at all, which they love. Everyone wins?

They are now saying the articles of impeachment should be released on Monday with a floor vote expected mid-week.   Its symbolic of course because dude will be gone long before it reached the Senate, but still necessary to make clear such sedition will not be tolerated.

Just a point of order on the "watch party" video, if you watch the monitors it appears that this was right before Trump went out to speak with the crowd and not during the storming of the Capitol.

Ken I'm reading that biden doesn't support impeachment. He's gotta have trump as an opponent in 2024 so dems can hold trump over voter's heads again - or after 4 years of "austerity" (that's democrat for trickle down) biden supports, the democrats will lose. If trump is successfully impeached he can't ever run for office again. Probably why Pelosi and Schumer were stalling for the 25th when there was a popsicle chance in hell they'd get it. As long as it looks like they're doing something before they take off for the weekend.

Pelosi definitely breaks into a late-era Katherine Hepburn vibrato at times that's kind of concerning, but she's demonstrated a sharpness--and particularly in her dealings with Trump--that I've found kind of reassuring over the last four years. As for her wealth, Nancy's a player, no doubt, but at least she's on the side of what's not-entirely-wrong in our broken-down two-party system.
