"The First Annual2018 Bluelight Music On2 Cinema Awards

Up first will always be the announcement of the recipients of that year’s selections for the Bluelight Music On2 Cinema Lifetime Achievers:

{Year one will have 5 LTA’s to get things going and establish a foundation and direction. Year two will have four inductees; and three a year moving forward for that point onwards}

All categories are to be designed (pick-them) and selected here by the members. I juts did that one, I guess.

And the First Two of Five of the 2018 Bluelight Music On2 Cinema Lifetime Achievement Recipients are:

Thelma Schoonmaker:

Signed up for a brief six-week course in film-making at New York University, where she came into contact with budding young film-maker Martin Scorsese, who was struggling to complete his film What's a Nice Girl Like You Doing in a Place Like This? A negative cutter had butchered his film, not leaving enough negative frames to allow for hot splicing. [clarification needed] A film professor asked her to help Scorsese; a close working relationship with him unfolded over the next fifty-five years. [3] Schoonmaker edited Scorsese's first feature film, Who's That Knocking at My Door.

At N.Y.U., Schoonmaker also met film-maker Michael Wadleigh and later edited his influential music festival documentary, Woodstock on which Scorsese also worked. Her first major film editing work on Woodstock gained Schoonmaker an Academy Award nomination for Best Editing.  Her use of superimpositions and freeze frames brought the performances in the film to life, and added to the movie's wide appeal, thus helping to raise the artistry and visibility of documentary film-making to a new level.

My friend had a poster from a place called “rum runners of oyster bay” any ideas?

Yeah, I was a great club up on the north shore, that had the worst parking. That supported top-tier local acts like the Good Rats.

But Jorma played there a few times & unlike the club in Roslyn LI called My Father's Place, it was impossible to get inside.

What was the band in the poster; "Stanton Anderson"?

It’s the Ramones with Rockphonics opening

Need two more recipients for the 2018 Bluelight Music On2 Cinema Lifetime Achievement Awards

More? Jazz etc..

Wow, I missed the whole thing.

Why didn't somebody wake me?

I'm sorry to say that I'm clueless

About modern music, more or less.

I just heard about Twenty-One Pilots.

Sicaro was a good movie but didn't come out this year.

Sicaro 2  came out this year, but was dogshit and didn't have any of the redeeming qualities of the first.

As for the rest of this?

I'm still trying to decipher.

I think Ned may be on to something though.

>>>>>>Best Male Blues Artist - Tommy Castro & the Pain Killers

*snicker*

White blues and painkillers sounds right up bluelights alley.

Earl Bailey from XM just broadcast this list I posted here, by band & or artist in the axct order & left the Dixie Dregs as the finale.

During the broadcast he said he would leave "his pick" for last and it was "Rip-Off" form T-Rex

So: Earl Bailey from XM a  VivA reader & global DJ - Get's the DJ of the years award

Bring it Earl!!

>> Earl Bailey from XM just broadcast this list I posted here

Amusing, but patently untrue.

The link says I'm crazy? I guess so or wouldn't have posted it.

>>I think Ned may be on to something though.

You let me know how that worked out, for you & Ned ^
