It's a misconception that
It's a misconception that they are all low waged. Many make good money doing construction, roofing, masonry, etc.
The problem is that by the time they are 45, their bodies are shot and they can no longer work in the trades. They go from making $30 p/h to minimum wage, and they lose everything. Or, like the guy in the documentary, the high paying job in the production line goes away, and they are fucked.
