Had to work yesterday as we're a little thin on available staff right now, so I will be celebrating today. Going to a 1-off IMAX screening of The Beatles Get Back rooftop performance at noon, and then gathering with the local family for dinner and cake this evening. I've been working a lot of hours, so I am looking forward to a restful day.
There was a Q&A with Peter Jackson beforehand. He said he was jealous because there is no IMAX where he's at, so he'll never see it on IMAX.
Some of the rooftop panoramas were dizzying in IMAX, especially the footage shot from the camera across the street. The footage of the cops was pretty funny, and contrasted well with the reactions of the people interviewed at street level. There's also good footage of them working on the tunes they didn't do on the roof, and of them listening to playback of the rooftop material.
On the way out we were given a complimentary poster and a lanyard.
Today is the 53rd anniversary of the rooftop concert.
