“Medal of Honor,” on Netflix

Damn, just amazing stories of heroism. Three episodes in, and I’m pretty sure it’s impossible to watch with dry eyes.

Episode 3 is about Sgt. Edward Carter, a Black infantryman in WWII. The guy stormed the enemy position alone, drew fire off his platoon, blew up the German heavy artillery that was tiring on the convoy, took multiple shots to the legs and body, killed another 6 Nazis and took 2 more as POWs. He used them as shields as he limped back to his unit, and interrogated them in German along the was, providing valuable info that allowed the Allies to cross the Rhine. Four weeks later he went AWOL from the military hospital, and returned to his unit.

And then he came home, to the segregated USA. It took 50 years and Neil he was truly honored.

I highly recommend watching a few episodes. Just amazing.

What an amazing story.
