Where's the live feed, WTF Noodler ??

Was very good all around and getting in the door for $31 and having free rein of much better seats than that didn't hurt either.

Man, I have to say, the opening PITB (not counting the Good Times warmup) was exceptional. The PITB jamming opened up into Miles Davis territory once they got into it with the D minor. John Mayer has clearly been listening to some of the right stuff from late 72, and I can tell you that Billy Strings cannot do what Mayer can do in these electric jams, straight up. That was some pretty dynamite playing, and only the second song into the tour! Oteil was fluid and jazzy as could be, Billy sounded great, Chimenti interacted perfectly with Mayer, and yes they fell back into lethargic tempo land for Stranger, but again that PITB is the stuff we want. It’s in the free Nugs preview that anyone can see. Go and check out that PITB.

Getting in the door for $31 and having free rein of much better seats>>>

Hundreds of $31 tickets, many good locations in the lower bowl, for Sunday July 10 @ The Bank(Phillies Park).  Weekend show for cheap, could be time to check out Bob & Co for the first time.

Set break chatter with pre-recorded Weir interview from Friday and Set II teaser:

Where were the $31 tix sold?

I saw some for $29 on stubhub the other day. Lots of freebies on Reddit too.

Bobby rockin out the J6 lol

I liked the show a lot. The Second set was very good both song selection and playing wise. Loved the Werewolves encore. Next stop is Citifield for me.

Good timing for YouTube to have added a custom speed adjustment option. 1.3x works pretty well for that Jack Straw

Or just listen to the one I posted in the other thread from Lockn 2017, where Bob sat in with JRAD and they almost made his head explode with their tempo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQw8tCJXgKY

I bumped into a few dozen fans touring the Stanford campus today (and yesterday at a ball game)

I was kinda surprised  that there are many people on Dead and Co tour. A few from Salt Lake City, but mostly  New Yorkers

And also surprised hearing a couple of teens saying how excited they are to see their 'First Grateful Dead Concert"

all a bit weird

I see a lot of that kind of magical thinking on Reddit, but then they also post a lot of pics over there of stuff they bought to show the world how heady they are.

I suppose the 'Grateful dead' franchise is here to stay.

could be referred to as the Grateful Dead touring act

(kinda like an  Broadway show on tour - not typically the original cast)

Good news is that the Music Never Stops, right?!

Hologram Jerry's time has come, I believe.

>>>Good news is that the Music Never Stops, right?!<<<

This is the final DeadSlow tour (at least with JM).  Mayer is out.  Heard it from a source in the know.  All I can say is Thank God it's over.

^ about time

>All I can say is Thank God it's over.

It's not over till the all fake fat men sing

Dead serious, this 'franchise' isn't going anywhere

Listened to 6/11 last night while on the clock (F you!  Pay me!smiley).

Some nice jams.  Drummers mostly kept track of The 1.

Bobby-sung Stella Blues* remain a fucking abomination.

Had me pining for TOO's instrumental version.

*Mix and match your favorite desecrated Garcia ballad!

>>>this 'franchise' isn't going anywhere

Exactly we haven't even seen the post core four super group yet. Mayer, Strings, Burbridge, Chimenti, Russo, and Molly Tuttle. That would sell out a few sheds every summer.

The Shoreline shows were killer. Sorry to see this band end, going to hit a few more shows this summer!

Odd that Mayer would be the one bouncing out, by choice or not, particularly after saying he loves it and is in for the long haul.

In other news, I was in a grocery store this morning and one of his queer love songs came on the feed. Shit stuck in my head (disaster!) and when I hear a younger female employee humming it later on I say, "too bad that shitty song sticks in our heads." She agreed. LOL

I too think that no one under 50 should listen to the Dead and that Phil, Bobby, Billy and Mickey should retire and stop playing any kind of music whatsoever.

^^^

Yeah, but they won't, and I'll probably hit some shows anyway, just for fun...

If the next guitarist isn't at least 65 years old, and balding, I'm out.

May contain artificial Garcia

I wonder if Mayer leaves DeadCo if Phil will snap him up for a run of shows? Never forget Phil being in the throes of musical ecstasy when he played with Mayer a few years ago. And he's gotten better with the material since then. surprise

Be cool to see the "Q" with John instead of Warren, or perhaps Further w/ John instead of John

I think Bobby's going to pull in Billy Strings next. He did Billy K's birthday shows in Hawaii as well as the Red Rocks shows and he's been popping up with Weir occasionally at Sweetwater.

I'll go out on a limb and predict some Deadheads will love it and some will absolutely despise it and opine for the good 'ol days of Jerry.

>>>>I think Bobby's going to pull in Billy Strings next

Ding! Sure Billy K would be down on that.

But..... well........ can Strings play at the Bobby grandpa tempo?

I got a fever, and the only prescription is more grandpa tempo!

I gotta have that grandpa tempo!!!!

>But..... well........ can Strings play at the Bobby grandpa tempo?

they have played together -check out recordings, take a listen and decide
