“We are saddened by the news today that our Compadre, Dusty Hill, has passed away in his sleep at home in Houston, TX. We, along with legions of ZZ Top fans around the world, will miss your steadfast presence, your good nature and enduring commitment to providing that monumental bottom to the ‘Top’. We will forever be connected to that ‘Blues Shuffle in C".

Been waiting my whole life to see ZZ Top.

Thanks for the tunes.

Saw them in 1980 at the Cap Centre. They were wearing mechanics uniforms a friend brought a bottle of JD inside without any problem. We swiggwd  it there . The good old days when you got away with everything at a show.

NOOOOOOOOO

This is a fuckin tough one for me

This is a fuckin tough one for me

I'm a shit kickin Florida boy, they came around all the fuckin time. Saw them 30 or more times.

What's it gonna take to lay that top on down?

Why don't you ask me when we get to the edge of town.............

Pretended I was sick when I was 14 and snuck out my window and saw them in WPB at the leaky tee pee.

Got home and climbed in bed at 1 am. My Dad came in 5 minuets later and beat the living shit out of me.

Worth it to see my middle school heros

Saw em maaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnny times from the 70's at the Palace in Waterbury till the last time they played the Oakdale. 5-6 years ago or so. In Waterbury they literally made the walls shake and the earth quake. One year in Hartford with the huge pyramid lazer lights opening with Under Pressure was sumthin, they just kept it going and going, blues my face right off.

Dusty just left Chicago

RIP Brother - Blues On

True pioneers of Tejas blues. Nothing like them!

Viva Las Vega Dusty, I've been digging ZZ Top since I was in high school. First show spring 1977,last show  fall 2019. I tried to catch every tour. Fifty years with the original band members. RIP Dusty, you rocked brother.

RIP ,Bummer.

No link but I saw a clip in short video of Hill's guitar tech taking his place at  a show  the other night.

ZZ ' fucking " Top...

He was a soulful guy listening to a boot of him singing Blue Monday. So sad!

I saw them last on 11/02/96 at Aragon Ballroom with Reverend Horton Heat, great memories.  RIP Dusty Hill.

Oh bummer -  I never saw them either . ......and they've been selling out shows all over lately.

damn.

If I had a bucket list, seeing ZZ Top would've been on it.

RIP, Dusty.

Bummer, loved that band. I only saw them once, at the height of the MTV madness in 1983, and they kicked ass.

RIP Dusty.

Actually the newest tour they are to kick off, they were NOT going to have Dusty on it due to health reasons. It would have been first time the trio would be missing one.

I have a feeling (If Covid allows) this might be a huge huge tribute to that big bearded bastard.

He is to pasture out on  the range, there's a lot of pretty girls out out there.

"Dusty emphatically grabbed my arm and said, ‘Give Elwood the bottom end and take it to the Top.’ He meant it, amigo. He really did.”
