RIP Jerry Lewis

I worked as a volunteer for MDA here on Long Island a couple of times and would have liked to have met him.

RIP to a true legend!

One of the greats. Did a lot of good for a lot of people. A life well lived.

Hey LADY!!!!!!!!!

Never liked his shtick, but RIP anyway.

He was more of a physical comedian, with childish routines.  I outgrew it.  Kind of a line from Chaplin>Keaton>Hardy>Lewis>Sellers>The Pythons.

Was it Steve Martin who said about Jerry Lewis, "In France, he is a god."?

Nevertheless, he was also called The King Of Comedy.

 The King Is Gone

Long Live The King

Never liked his shtick <<<<

Me as well .. i did like his Role in the MDA Telethons though

He had a late night talk show at one point.

it failed miserably:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYD08skFW8M

{ { { { THANKS FOR ALL OF THE COMPASSION JERRY LEWIS, GODSPEED } } } }

I remember hearing that he never wore the same pair of socks twice.

(((Jerry's Kids)))

grumpy old man

As much as i adored his buddy flicks with Martin, he was a misogynist asshat in reality which was disappointing to learn

Very un-pc by todays standards, but I did enjoy him as a kid.

I worked with him many years ago on ' Damn Yankees ' musical - was a gentleman and one of the nicest people ive ever worked with over all my years.  He treated my mother in law like she was the only person in the room, kissed her hand and offered her Belgian chocolates after one of the performances when he insisted i bring her back to meet him....

Year and a half ago i found myself working with him again at the Kennedy Center and got a few minutes to talk to him backstage before rehearsals and he said he remembered me but who knew...as he was going to the stage for the event he passed me in the hallway in his wheel chair and as he went by he cracked me in the shins with his cane, said ' hey kid ' and laughed his ass off as they took him to the stage....

RIP OG Prankster

RIP

That must have been an experience , Mike from Pa.

Every time a Laney amp arrives for repair at my shop

someone inevitably will say "Hey Laney" to riff on Jerry.

I did watch the telethons in the 70's, but I never did find him as funny as those from France did. RIIP Jerry. Thanks for all your contributions.

with Rupert - in one of his last great films
