Found a free travel credit from Delta Airlines that expires next week so I booked an impulsive trip to Miami to see the Pats take on Miami for MNF in December. Pumped! Sitting right down near the field- 40 rows back.
How do your teams look this year? Pats looking stacked.

NFL games live are over rated, at best. Sure, it's exciting, but 70k+ needing to pee at the same time is never easy.
College games live are where it's at. More spit/fire, marching bands, drunk co-eds...

Sure. I get it. NFL is a great product for television.
With that said, there's something to be said for seeing something live- I'm sure you understand. I don't drink alcohol so I don't anticipate waiting in concession/bathroom lines all night. Your Mileage May Vary, of course.

Just got my son tickets to the Pats v. Broncos game in Denver in November. He is a huge New England fan and this is as close as they are getting to New Mexico where he is going to college.
Damn, the tickets were spendy, even for the nosebleeds! I periodically see Jags games when I am back in North Florida visiting the folks or when they come up here to play the Seahawks in Seattle and never paid anything close to what I shelled out for the Broncos/Pats game.
I assume game ticket prices vary from team to team and game to game?

>>>NFL is best at home<<<
>>>NFL is best at home<<<
I understand the argument but I completely disagree with that. I've been spending ridiculous amounts of money to see live NFL football for 35 years and happily continue to do that to see one of the worst teams in the league (at least they were last year). To me it's the same thing as people saying listening to a recording of a show is better than being in the room.
Easier certainly, but never better, and I think that's more true today than ever with all the time-outs and penalties and reviews. When you're at the game you don't have to listen to the talking heads and sideline Barbie's and you never have to watch a single commercial. That's better right there!
You have to have a good seat to really see & appreciate a football game, but if you do, for the few moments they are actually playing the game and flags aren't flying you can really see the greatness of the players, the speed of the game, the raw beauty 22 players all doing completely different things yet all flowing together and the overall glory of the game of football played at it's highest level.
Other than all the fluff, constant commercial breaks and endless jabber the main problem with football on TV is that almost all of the true & most interesting action happens away from the ball, but the camera is always focused directly on the ball. When you're there you see how it all flows together, how fucking fast & good those guys are and how hard it is to be a consistently successful NFL player, and in particular a consistently successful NFL QB.
The only thing is you have to pay attention, because there is so much down time and when the ball is snapped everything happens really fast, so no jabbering with your friends or watching those cheerleaders, but it's a brilliant and completely different thing to watch an NFL game live instead of staring at a screen and not seeing why things happen the way they do.
Sure the crowds & traffic are a pain and everything is stupid expensive, but most of that can be dodged or handled, and if you pay attention and you know how to watch (which isn't easy) going to the game is dramatically better live than it could ever been on the boob tube.
As for my 49ers, I'm excited to see the changes with an actual professional coaching staff and am hoping that with the added depth and growth of their younger players they'll compete, win a few games and show promise for the future. There is nothing more exciting than seeing your team win after losing for a long time.
And that's the other and possibly best thing about being at the game; if you're emotionally connected to a team and your among 60,000+ other people who are emotionally connected to the same team there is nothing quite as exciting as the rush of emotion that explodes simultainiously from a TD, interception, sack, etc.
It's the bomb man.
GTTG!

God I miss the days of
God I miss the days of watching Kosar lead the Browns from my seat in the old dog pound. The dog pound was the endzone that were the bleacher seats for Indians games. They also caged it off from the rest of the stadium so you could not get to anywhere but that end zone. The cops would watch fights in the stands like hockey refs, only coming in once everyone had punched the energy out of their body, just to be carried off to ambulatory help or jail. Urine would flow like a river from the rest rooms and most just pulled out their peckers and peed on the wall instead of wading thru the piss to get to a urinal, and of course you wore boots to the game.
Now I will occasionally go to a Bucs or Jags game, but it just doesn't have that old municiple stadium flare to it.

If Brady and Gronk stay
If Brady and Gronk stay healthy they have a real shot at repeating. I almost wish they would sit Brady for four games again this year.
As for TV viewing they have this thing called a DVR. I never start a game on time especially on the west coast. I don’t enjoy football live. Too many years of TV training have made it impossible for me to follow the action when I go to a game. It just ends up being four hours of watching a bunch of big guys fall down and never seeing the play. I can actually follow better in bad seats than when I have had good seats.

Good man. My two favorite teams. And sometimes you get extra perks at Jags games, like the free beer nights they tried a few years back to boost attendance during a particularly off year:

Think Khan will ever move them to London?
Speaking of possible international expansion of the league, Mexico City would be a prime city. Its in the same time zone and there are tons of Mexicans who came up here for work, got into NFL football, and moved back home.

I think Kahn is going to give jacksonville a real shot at keeping the team imo. They just added a practice facility along with an ampitheater connected to Everbank. The ampitheater is called Dailey's Place. I think both will make game expierences at the stadium even better. They have made some great improvements to the stadium in the last few years.

One thing that I've learned
One thing that I've learned is that it doesn't matter how good a team looks in training camp or pre-season games, nobody knows how they will do until the season starts. All those pre-season rankings are completely meaningless. All it takes is a key injury or two, or some unknown to become a star, and everything changes.
