Oh, yes, im on my strict prephish regime this summer, as 8/5 is Luke s 23rd bday...and we ll need to be heavily vitamined up for the show we pick for that wknd....:)
Who(m) ever is visiting MSG for the Bakers' Dozen, I have only one recommendation for Beer pre-show. The Ginger Man around 36th and Madison Ave. They always have 10,000 excellent Beers on tap, and comfy couches in the back.
gingerman-ny.com
Not very far from MSG. I liek to go there pre-show and have a Pint, maybe read the paper. Just a block or two away from Penn Station / MSG.
It's always been a nice Chill-out spot with an excellent selection of Beer. Maybe not quite 10,000 but dozens of Really Good Ones. After 5 PM it looks like Office Party at the front Bar. So if you show up say, 3-4 PM, it is not too crowded.
I'll keep that in mind for the first weekend, Disco Stu - I'm staying at the Roosevelt for those nights with Scottocs and another friend so it will be right on the way down Madison for us. I want in on some of that Limited Ben & Jerry's Freezer Reprise before the first show too.
I'll be at the opening two nights, so hopefully we can all get together for Lunch perhaps Saturday afternoon.
Or even late-night Snacks, if you come up with some Ethniccal place with the Crazy Menu, I am probably all over it.
Does not have to be Vegan. I like any type of Well-designed and tasty Food.
I'm camping out just around the corner from MSG as well.

Pacing will be the key! You mentioned a boat cruise on the other thread - that would be a pre show blast to finish up the run.
