Why did the slow clap go out of style?

Forums:

Seemed to have a lot going for it. Strange.

Superseded by the slow Chlamydia.

Same people who like "fast tempos" in songs picked up the pace re: clapping ... ultimately blurring the line between "signal: noise"

Basically the AIDS scare in early 1980's  bred a mass-culture of condom consumption,  which led to a decrease in typical cases of "Social Disease".

But the same "Sex might Kill me"  vibe also ruined the last vestiges of the Disco scene,  until Rave music devolved.

Blame Nancy Reagan.  S/he is responsible for what we now call "EDM".

One word...Molly!

Speed it up!

It was supplanted in the public mind by "Whazzup!!!".

Given our limited RAM, something had to go.

Dumb Thread ? = YES !
