The Preacher Season 2

Forums:

Last year I asked the zone for recommendations on a new TV series. There were some great suggestions and i believe someone mentioned this The Preacher. I binge watched Season 1 and found it pretty good. A satire based on a DC comic book character, a preacher,  that inherited  "newly discovered" powers allowing him to command and control people by suggestion.  His sidekick is an  Irish Vampire  with serious vices and and is by far my favorite character.  Now I say its only pretty good as I expected it to pick up steam  but it peaked midway through the season and  stayed nearly flat line to the final episode. Now  season 2 started with a bang and I must say is far beyond what I expected.  Way over the top. Really looking forward to the next episode.

Anyone else tuned in?

It's off the hook.

Love it.

“We’re in Texas, they pretty much grow dumb-ass crazy here.”

Figured this was right in the zones wheelhouse. Quite graphic.

Big fan since the comics and I am digging it.

the show spun it's wheels for most of the 1st season.

not a fan of most of the cast.  Tulip is awful. I loved Jackie Earl Haley, though.

if i hadn't read the entire comic series i might like it a little more.

The first season of the show was a major disappointment, but I would recommend checking out the books from Garth Ennis as they are fantastic.

I love the casting on Tulip.  I wasn't seeing Jesse at first, but now I'm down.  I think it's always a little weird when you are familiar with comics and the casting or story isn't spot on exactly a copy of the books.  My only criticism of the first season is that I think it took awhile for the various story threads to coalesce, which was fine for me as a fan familiar with the story but might have been confusing if you didn't know where it was going. The recent season 2 opener was great though.
