The kid says on way to my house they played something before Friend of Devil, but doesnt know what it was....(i was back on US Open). He asked me what it was, because he wants to learn it, of course, only part of set i missed...lol
Wish they d do an apacolypse now space w it...tease a lil doors "the end"...add a little helicopter sound...CB, get on the horn w mickey and see what ya can do....
I really enjoyed this show. They seemed to have turned up the energy big time. JM and Oteil really had some great chemistry which did not go unnoticed by core 3 in fact they were bugging out on it. Chimenti jumped on that and was stellar . IMHO the best of the tour and up there with some of the best this band has ever done.
Re: Weir string....not sure. Was in stands behind home plate. During that section (piano solo - which was great) they never showed much, if any, of the band on the screens. Rather, it was still wild graphics. In fact, they finally showed Chimenti near the end. Watching from such a distance, I could see Weir figdeting and then sitting on his large stool. Could not tell if we was fixing a string. Would think that his guitar tech would do that, but who knows.
General Comments: Not including listening or watching previous streams and therefore, not being there live, Fenway was first of 5 I will see. Can state that, at least here at Fenway, each set was better than the previous which is a good trend!
Saturday was a good show. Without any others live to compare it to, I enjoyed overall. Sunday seemed much higher energy and louder. Sat in same exact spot. Highlights last night was the acoustic trio at end of 1st set and then the opening of the 2nd was hot. Could tell that they called an audible when they left stage for drums and posted band set list shows that Lovelight was teed up for that spot.
Again, trending well live! See how they open up tomorrow at SPAC
