Dead&Co>Music>Dire>Jack Tour Opener Vegas

Forums:

I really enjoyed the opening night in Vegas from my couch.  Moderate pace. Lovely cadence. Loads of fun. Here is a taste.

Enjoy!

are you under 40?

and it soon flowed in this from Folsom Field - July 2nd, 2016.  Some gave this show really good reviews.  Again nice pace and lovely cadence.

Its not your age that matters when grooving to Dead (that moves your ass) but how old you feel and the size of your ears.  Right?

I never saw Jerry and I don't need to see this. Thanks.

Hahahah....Your reputation proceeds you.  Like it. Leave it. Dump on it.  I am not pitching you on anything.

You've literally been asked whether you're being paid by the post to shill for this band. By the nature of your submissions you are literally pitching.

You are right: It's funny.

^^ I kind of remember something to that effect but thought it was pure rubbish by a poser with little  substance  to his comments.  Too many of those around here with tooo many posts and not enough ear. But do not need to convince you of that or The merits behind  Dead Co. It is a good time and good old Grateful Dead. Love it or leave it or dump on it.  I know what I like.

I could only make it about three minutes through that clip once they started playing.  That wasn't just "not my cup of tea."  That caused me to physically recoil.

Nice pace...if u like watching paint dry...

M > D > J opener!?!!!!?!

This isn't so bad. The pace is good on each song and it's all fairly coherent.

Real bad intro to Jack Straw, but oh well.

It misses Phil.

Wait. I'm in the middle of Straw and it's rambling out of it's structure. Will they recover?

It's beginning to plod.

Second Verse finally.

uggggh

Mayo's solo shit the bed.

Holy Shit it's bad.

He has no idea how to build the tension.

That should be Barry Sless. And with Barry, that should be Phil.

Add Larry Campbell and leave Bobby's guitar in his earpiece.

I think that band played at TXR a while back.

Not under 40 but I was at Vegas and liked the whole show. I like KK's line

Love it or leave it or dump on it.  I know what I like.

So now your knocking the arts.

Hey Kenny!!!

I had a blast at the Sunday Shoreline Show.  Got to hang out with Mr and Mrs Fuzzbusket, visiting from Colorado (they're probably at Dead & Co right now).  Great people and good fun was had.  Grateful to be able to hang out a bit with WALSTIB and Dickyb as well.

Went in with low expectations about the music and enjoyed what I heard.  Slow pace was fine for my groove.  And even from the lawn, the second set music/backdrop screen mesmerized me to no end (well, until it ended).  Mayer did some trippy things with his guitar at times as well.  I think during the Slipknot! jam and during another song with pedal steel-like sounds (Hard Rain?).  Jeff C solos were always welcome.

Good times.

Yes: I'm over 40.

Hi Johnny. So cool you got to the show.  In fact  thought I saw you on the big screen. wink  Zoners hanging with zoners while listening to good old GD has gotta be a favorite past time like baseball and apple pie for old farts over 40.  I think leveling ones expectations when seeing any GD off shoot is part of setting the table. That includes Phil as well.
