Looking at these as a used vehicle. Honda stopped making them in 2011 presumably because people liked the fancier CRV better. I like that you can remove the rear seats and it is Awd. Anyone ever drive one?
I drive a 2011 Element. Mine is AWD and gets lousy gas mileage, honestly if I were to buy a used vehicle again I'd go with a Honda Odyssey - you can take out the seats and will get a smoother ride and better gas mileage. We also own an older Honda CRV which I love, and has over 200,000. I know someone who took the seats out of CRV, of course the seats in the Element are designed to be removed. Might as well, because it's not really nice to put passengers back there - way too bumpy. And I tried hosing out the back once. Found puddles in the nooks and crannies for days. After that, I just went with wiping it down. Sure wish more vehicles were made with easeir to clean interiors, just say no to carpeting.
The Honda dealer seemed to think that a new Element will be on the market soon. If they make it EV, I'll sell you my old Element cheap. The AWD Element gets about 18 MPG. Folks I know who drive the 2 wheel drive version get about 25 MPG. The AWD is necessary on the slick curvy roads.
please elaborate, junior, on how calling someone out for their hypocrisy, is related to their gender. i'd gladly do the same if it was you in this situation. i'm all eyes waiting for your answer.
I bought a used 2009 scratch and dent element with 27,000 on it in 2011. I still drive it daily. Wish it carried more than four people. It's a fun vehicle. Gets 25 mpg on the highway. Great in the snow. I'm in some steep hills. My rwd pickup truck spins off the street or driveway. I suppose any awd vehicle is better than that. If I had anticipated driving my parents and my kids around i might have gone for a mini van.
The element has comfortable headroom and legspace, at least in the front row. The balcony is a little different. Probably like the crows nest as you do get bounced around a little more than you might in a lower ride.
The Honda AWD is a practical feature on the top heavy SUV - the 4 wheel drive kicks in automatically - and when dodging pot holes and distracted drivers I find the feature invaluable, yeah especially after those first rainfalls of the season when the roads are slick.
I do a mix of City and Highway driving - and it does seem that most other folks are reporting better mileage,
I would much rather drive an EV...soon. Tesla will be selling an EV pick up truck and EV cargo van. The AWD Chevy Bolt EV might be an option and Nissan has a small EV cargo van on the market just not available in the US currently.
Oh, Davey rode in the back seat of our Element once, he can attest to the bumpy ride, and the need for AWD.
Oh, Hillman, that's adorable and reminds me of when TU told me that if I cared about the planet aI wouldn't be driving to the beach all the time. Lol

Bought a new Odyssey 11 years ago to raise kids in. It's been awesome. No issues, decent mileage (granted we don't drive much). Auto side doors are basically the best. If I had that many cup holders in my touring days...?
looking at trading it in for a new AWD Pilot this month. Ahhh... East Bay suburbia. Guess I haven't hit my midlife crisis car stage yet.
All my neighbors are trading in their soccer mom vans for sports cars (mostly convertibles) now that their kids are out of car seats.I can probably pick up a very well maintained Odyssey on the cheap.

Subaru Outback. You can get good used ones for a reasonable price and they last forever. I'm a huge Honda fan but I've been really impressed with the two Outbacks that my wife has driven.

Honda used to make nice dirt bikes back in the day. As for cars, I had a civic. It was ok. The engine was pretty good up to 100,000 miles. Never had any transmission (manual) issues. The exhaust system they put on those things could probably be better used for scrap in a junk yard. I had to replace it twice. Got rid of it at about 170k. Not a terrible vehicle. Biggest expense I had was about 1800. On a short term level it was good. As for their new brand of vehicles, I find them to be very over priced. Their vehicles aren't anything special.

My Nephew has an Element and it rides/drives really quite nice.
The Toaster-like configuration makes it ideal for transporting cubist items like Amps, Speaker Cabinets, PA systems and such.
I was amazed at how much Music Gear he transported from Tahoe to PA, and even a Dog.
He likes to drive too fast, and has gotten tickets, so I know it will do about 90 MPH.
