The MGF charity night is one of those unforgettable events kicking off the festival, with celebrity superstars stopping by, amazing auction items, art, photographs. The line-up is still being finalized… but we’re thrilled to announce that legendary singer-songwriter John Hiatt will be joining us, the Kenneth Brian Band will be playing with the legendary drummer Steve Ferrone, Oscar nominated composer Marco Beltrami will bring a 15 peice ensemble for a piece specially composed for the evening, country superstar Hunter Hayes will be playing, Laurence Juber from Wings will be there… and Rolling Stones alumni Waddy Wachtel and Bernard Fowler. And in celebration of The Doors 50th Anniversary, we’ll be giving a Lifetime Acheivement Award to iconic-rock guitar hero Robby Krieger. Plus, in true MGF tradition, there will some TRUE surprises that we can’t announce.

Hot Licks Night

This looks like being one of the most explosive nights of music we’ve ever hosted. Celebrating the “She Rocks” documentary, some of the fiercest female guitar players are coming out to do what they do best. ZEPARELLA will be channeling the spirit of Led Zep, plus their own GRETCHEN MENN, Brazilian bombshell LARI BASILIO, Prince’s bass supremo NIK WEST, and the legand himself STEVE VAI will be sitting in with the ladies all night long!! TOMMY EMMANUEL is rightly called the “world’s greatest acoustic guitar player”; HUNTER HAYES is a platinum selling country player at just 20 years old and we are thrilled to have him; Fleetwood Mac founder MICK FLEETWOOD has played with the best of the best- and he’s hand-picked his blues band to play into the night; JAMTOWN is a brand-new band formed by DONOVAN FRANKENREITER, CISCO ADLER & G.LOVE; MICHAEL JOHN HAYES channels Stevie Ray and Jimi Hendrix; former Tower of Power frontman LENNY GOLDSMITH and THE NEW OLD will channel funk, soul and R&B; plus KENNETH BRIAN BAND with STEVE FERRONE, Jimmy Kimmel’s own Cleto Escobedo with BUZZ WIZARDS, local kids MRS GILL, HOLLIS BROWN, THE BAND STEELE, DUANE BETTS, the SOFT WHITE SIXTIES, ZACK ZOTOS, WRENN… it’s going to be an unforgettable day. This may be our best idea ever!!! After a week of jaw-dropping guitar-mania, what better way to wind down than a brunch celebrating the music of the Stones. The Festival Grounds will be transformed into an intimate brunchgarden…

The Tearaways, Daniel Paige, Kenneth Brian and Travis Stephens, and local radio presenter Brooke Halpin will all be playing their favorite Mick and Keith tunes… and we can’t say anything official yet but… Stones fans, be there!

Also Andy Babiuk who literally wrote the book on Stones Gear will give a presentation describing how the Stones got their sound. Not to be missed!!!
