FUK

I was feeding my father breakfast and didn't see the email for 20 minutes any kind soul have one or two extras please

Looking myself for 2 tickets

Sold out while I was starting laptop to get password.

6pm? Does anyone work out there wtf

I hope tickets come your way, LLTD and Nugs

Nice to see a bit more public performances between these two.  Might this mean a thawing with the other members?  Who knows but Weir has been coming to TXR and it would be nice to see Phil reciprocate with Weir at the Sweetwater

How could a backyard show sell out so fast?  How many tix did they sell?

And John Molo is joining Rattlebox tonight in the Bar.

BTW: Does anyone know if the bar/restaurant will be open tomorrow night?

Or is this "ticket only" for the whole place?

"...BTW: Does anyone know if the bar/restaurant will be open tomorrow night?.."

I would quite honestly hope not, as May 3 is traditionally celebrated as "International Hashish Smuggler Respect Day".

Help respect the International Hashish community and the awful discrimination against their huge base of political prisoners by not going out to see live music or eating in restaurants.

Stay home and smoke hash.

>>>And John Molo is joining Rattlebox tonight in the Bar<<<

It also looks like Rattlebox & Phil are playing for free in the backyard today at 4:20. I wonder if Molo will join that? Either way there's lots of good music for good prices and lots of choices lately at the clubhouse.

And I would be surprised if the restaurant is closed tomorrow, which probably means they limited ticket sales and why it sold out so fast.

With Bob there it should be real fun and good, but I do miss a drummer at these deals.

Still, with the weather we're getting this week it will be just glorious in the backyard tomorrow evening.

Almost certain I can't make it up there, so to whoever goes, whoop it up for the rest of us!

Another one I would have traveled for...

I biffed on the ticket release cause I was intently watching the 4 hour long Bruce Hampton Bday Tribute / Memorial....

The backyard has indeed been a nice thing as of late.

Here's my geeky capture of last Friday Evening's Songs to Fill the Air:

I couldn't sleep after the Bruce Hampton show and was up

will be fun and hot

see you there:)

no blankets? thats madness I tell you...madness

I'm going.

China! Me too...nothing like short notice, right? I'm on the lookout for a good TXR lineup to travel for, so we should coordinate!

Have a great time all and post pics tomorrow.

Any of you peeps that are going have room for one rider from SF?
I have a car - but my wife needs to use it.

Just checking to see.....?

Hi Llollo, definitely!

Hey Treble!

It will be easy for me to get you back home.  We could arrange a meet up at an East Bay BART Station, like West Oakland, if you'd like me to give you a ride to TXR (that's not far from the freeway).

Email or PM me if you're interested.

I know that some folks take public transportation up to TXR from SF, but not sure how expensive it is or how long it takes.

See you soon, either way.

Thanks Johnny - but I secured the car so no worries now!
CU THERE!

So, what's happening tomorrow night at TXR?  Nothing on the calendar yet.

Tremendous show for a low price ($20) with a fanstastic crowd
A+ Weather and an impressive band featuring Phil and Bobby!
With Grahame Lesh, Jason Crosby and Scott Law doing terrific support
of the music and it's principle architects.

Notes:
Cassidy was never finished and my cam battery died toward the end of the jam.
Weir was vocally clamming throughout the show but the audience loved it.
Grahame Lesh has fully stepped up his game and was great.
Jason and Scott are totally worthy of this level of performance.
Yet another amazing TXR experience!

Thanks for the videos

Mad props to Johnny Skudebro for the ticket!

Why no drummer?

Here's a link with videos shot by my buddy Dan.

https://jam.buzz/front-row-watch-bob-weir-join-phil-lesh-drumless-perfor...

>>>Why no drummer<<<

Phil has been doing these non-drummer "Songs to Phil the Air" afternoons in the park for a while now, always very low key and free little events, more like nice background music in the park than a full-on concert. It probably developed from Phil's Sunday Stories & Songs freebee's he's been doing since they opened the park.

Since for whatever reason Weir was involved with this one it garnered much more attention so was ticketed, but it was still a STPTA show, so no drummer.

I was able to make it to the show yesterday and it was the first of these no-drummer shows for me. I thought in person it worked well, especially when outside the song structure. Given the effort it takes for me to get up there I will likely not be making many of these STPTA shows, but if I lived close I'd be there for every one.

Weir looked and sounded really good IMO, and with plenty of room in the park and the weather absolutely glorious it was quite the fun event. Then later in the bar Scott Law had a full band rocking out JGB songs, two sets that went past 11:00, and that was a blast as well.

The place was jamming, people dancing in the isles and having a great time in every corner of the building. It was especially fun for me to be able to watch a tense Dodgers/Giants game in the "living room" behind the stage with music blasting and people dancing everywhere. I'm pretty much done with Giants Torture (is it too much to ask for them to win just a couple of games 7 - 0?). It was a great way to watch the game, with good music, zoners and lots of others partying all around.

Yesterday was just another really good day at the clubhouse. It was an effort but I'm glad I was able to get up there.

Did Bobby play that Rickenbacker?  Shades of '66.

Bobby didnt' touch the Rick.....

Jambase used my vidcaps in their coverage:

You know what these guys really could use???

a drummer!

HA!

Treble, thanks for posting the links.  It was fun to watch Bob and Phil interacting on the small stage.

Yeah, some nice ensemble playing during the jams.

Thanks for the reviews and the links!

I would have loved to be at this show, great fun to watch and listen to.

right on Treblemaker!!! thanks for the link.

Bob has really been in some cool line ups this year, so happy he still plays with Phil at his house.....

let em cast a stone, for sure.

Big River = Big Fun

Well sometimes it's a blessing to be alive.

well actually It probably always is but it's nice to be aware of it sometimes

on a beautiful day in the park right by the water with the regatta of dead boats paying tribute

standing 8 feet away from Bobzilla and 10 feet away from the maestro Phil Lesh

It's hard to describe the smile on Phil's face And  in my soul

as I recall it takes many more muscles to frown than to smile and Phil  was absolutely beaming with joy and was in fine form    And I won't disagree with the heathen that Phil is one of the finest musicians on the planet: nuance, subtlety power flow joy connectedness and perhaps wizardry

and on this day mr weir  certainly reminded me of when I and many others used to regard him as the finest with therythm guitar player in the world   And definitely for this music with this band and his time and space

truly unique

to me Bob was pretty magical and the bond between the brothers undeniablend it was great to see Bob so on and in fact not slowing things down for my perception

Scott and Jason were solid and some of the fiddle work from Jason was quite amazing and

They appear to have only sold 4- 500 tickets and the park was nowhere near crowded

I couldn't say for sure is I never left dead center dead land

And it  certainly took me back to 47 years and nine months ago where I stood in the same spot found by sheer coincidence luck and serendipity in a ball park in Palo Alto  while cruising on my bicycle with no no destination in mind

In that park on that summer day this band was playing on a flatbed truck and I didn't know at the time how impactful they would be in my life

anyway I'm having difficulty posting on my phone but wanted to share some of my emotion from that magical day

I will just close with long live the dead

And God bless Jack the air drummer as he had to adjust his approach Wednesday with no drummer but God damn if he  didn't know all the fucking lyrics

shout out to tang and Moses for bringing him and he was only 11 1/2 feet away from Phil

Howdy y'all!

Thank you, lltd, and txr nation for being so accommodating to little moses, aka air drummer, currently air strummer. smiley

The regulars are so nice and generous to our cause, it makes me verklempt.

Anyhow, what a beautiful show in the backyard. Always good to see zoners (steveR, roshambo, heathenton ,jamjuice, dlfo, pk15, i know im forgetting somebody epic... JohnnyD, and  others...

as well as freinds from the 90's, and txr fixtures, all at the same time for some phil and bobby.

Scalcione! I know its not cool to talk when the music is playing, but I'm glad we got to have a good conversation. Blessings.

Treblemaker! Very strong work. Thank you. Good to re-meet you.

>>>And God bless Jack the air drummer as he had to adjust his approach Wednesday with no drummer but God damn if he  didn't know all the fucking lyrics

He was somewhat lost at the lack of drums at the beginning, but seemed to adjust as things moved along.

God bless and happy bday to lil momo. cheeky
