Thursday Roger McGuinn North NJ Free Ticket...

Forums:

So the nice folks at WBAI gave me a pair of tickets for the Roger McGuinn show in one of their many charity Prize trivia competition giveaways.

(Thanks DJ EZ Wind !!)

It is at SOPAC (South Orange Performing Arts Center) at 7:30 PM Thursday, May 4. That is in New Jersey.

I talked to several old people I know and said 'Hey, wanna go see an original Byrd?"

One has Cribbage practice, the other is teaching the grandchildren how to weave cobwebs, another can't decide.

If some nearby Zoner wants to see Roger McG live, email me and we can meet up at the box office before the show.

Email is internationalfirewood (((At))) gmail etc.

Who(m)ever has the coolest photo of their Dog or Cat or Hamster or Pirrhana gets first pick.

Saw this about 20 years ago (and I think we won those tix from 'BAI - or maybe 'FDU).  Good songs and stories, and he may have a few new ones by now.

But The Roches, who opened, kinda kicked his ass, performance-wise.

Actually, not kinda.  Flat-out.

Not that it's a competition, but, y'know . . .

I love cribbage, great game. I'd probably beat your older buddy pretty soundly if we played. Trust me on this.

I used to play and love cribbage. My ex-father-in-law designed and made me an oval board out of koa wood. It's a beaut. I miss playing.

Koa is a popular Tonewood in Acoustic Guitars.

I'd guess that ole McGuinn has a good stash of Koa Taylor & Breedlove guitars.

Nice, Judit. It's hard finding people who play. My wife got me a pretty nice commercial board a few years ago but I've seen some real killer homemade boards. I'd like to make a nice one at some point.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure I would win any kind of zoner cribbage tournament if one ever went down, leaving shattered cribbage egos in my wake. Just being honest, which was one of my new years resolutions.

I just realized my last post reads sort of like Bucky The Badgers shtick.

I feel a little ashamed.

It's OK to boast of your vast Cribbage skills here.

I'm just trying to pass  on a Free McGuinn ticket to some lucky Zoner.

There's also a post in 'Ticket Board' so feel free to speak freely of Cribbage topics over there, if Admin says OK.

I think I would lose if we played, ATGD. I played a lot,  successfully, but that was 30 and more years ago.

Nice offer Disco

No spot taken

My Canadian University pals attempted to teach me Cribbage, but it was a Gambling ploy which they always exploited.

We played for Beers, and the Dorm had a Beer store which was open almost all the time if you wanted a "two-four".

Just like Bob & Doug McKenzie, and there was actually a Molson Dorm.

I won tickets for either him, or George Carlin back in 1991.

I chose Carlin.

Sweet offer>no spot, although i wood if i could

Cribbage is best card game out there...i used to play a lot...im sure id skunk ya, cross, if ever given the chance...judit, you should find a cribbage club in your area! Such a great game...

Great offer , stu....no spot taken (if i didnt have to work on my day off...id take it! Bummin, now, but ill be happy come payday)

Extra ticket spoken for.

Thanks for all the cribbage tips!

I saw Roger McGuinn last night in Port Washington, LI. HIs guitar chops are amazing, he told great stories, and the overall performance was transcendent imo...

Here's Morning Dew's 2 hour Interview with Roger. along with some musical treats:

I never played cribbage, but I can roll with the best of 'em at Pig Mania!

Thanks again for the tixx Mr. DJ Easy Wind.

Glad to hear the show met/exceeded your expectations.

Really looking forward to tomorrow's entertainment. Venue is new to me, 400 - some seats with good nearby Food choices.

If I could only bring the Hüsky laugh
