having the characteristics of traditional culture and customs, especially in a contrived or artificial way.
"the shop's folksy, small-town image"
(of a person) informal and unpretentious.
"his tireless energy and folksy oratory were much in demand at constituency lunches"
it doesn't work for everybody. Sometimes it just sounds uber-pretentious

When I was a kid in Australia
When I was a kid in Australia, a lot of people had 1/2 saltwater pools, with the water pumped up from the ocean.
The tiny but deadly blue-ringed octopi would sometimes make it through the filters and land in the filter box. A couple of people a year died while cleaning the filter. Then there were the funnel web spiders, one of the deadliest. They could live underwater for 24 hours and also liked filter boxes.
Be careful out there, kids. It's safe to swim in the pool, but the person cleaning it is risking life and limb for your white privilege.

Everything is more deadly
Everything is more deadly down under. Great folksy Aussie charm in that story, Brian.
Pool cleaners really earn their Fosters, sounds like.

Slacker is the only Zoner on
Slacker is the only Zoner on this thread smart enough not to go to college. AND he lives in a prime school district.
Slacker knows all the tricks; just couldn't click with Tulsa, Eddie, or OG on a dbmb. So they're banned. Now this.

Eddie liked to tell a story
Eddie liked to tell a story about his "friend" who couldn't control himself
and kept ending up in jail.
Your crew can't control themselves.
You cry about them not being here but you don't talk to them over there.

Great, now the pool boy wants to be the jailer...bad->worse.
You cried when they were here, but read them over there, so what's worse?
It's about the group dynamic. But no group, no dynamic.
Taken together, the Grateful Dead were greater than the sum of their parts.
In its best years, the same thing could've been said about Philzone.org, but you had to know how to swim within and among the group.
With your enthusiastic help, La Viva's vibe went all :
So, to grab one recent example, St. Mark's Bday Thread can't pull the numbers he's used to seeing.
