If you fuck with my beer thread I just don't know what will happen! translation: Wanna beer?

Pfriem IPA at lunch, and then a Pike Brewing IPA at SeaTac around 5:30. The Pfriem was pretty good.

It's really good. Not as sweet as Twelfth of Never.

Now you've done it, Slacker. Willows is now putting bids in on having you banned. She got offended at your fake offense, and that's all it takes. Viva is her safe space.

Small brewery. Good milk stout.

I miss it so.

Brian, you're still here with your butthurt mini meltdowns, aren't you? Go snort some CBD or something...we're talking beer here.

yeah, i hear boofing cbd is the way to go...

image_384.jpgFoam. A brewery worth checking out in VT.

firestone luponic...really tasty

I think Dise owes Slacker an apology. And, a beer.

I'd gladly buy Slacker a beer and apologize for implying he takes miniature golf seriously. Sorry, Slacker!

lol

I was recently daydreaming that Lagunitas IPA is the ubiquitous local beer on tap at my usual watering holes.

Then, last night, I got to the front of one of the best bar lines in the world (TXR Grate Room) to learn that they had dc'd Lagunitas and had a different IPA (I can't remember what the name was).  I also had another new (to TXR) beer: Red Seal Ale from North Coast Brewing.   $8 per pint hurts a bit.

The new beer at TXR is likely from Ironsprings Pub in Fairfax.
They make many great beers and it's West Marin's Living Room where many great musician's play.

Their Sless Stimulating Stout has won 3 consecutive GABF awards.

With all the TXR Action this week I strongly doubt anyone here would care about this - but I'll be starting a new monthly Bluegrass Jam tonight, at 8 PM at a brand new brewery in South San Francisco: http://47hillsbrewingcompany.com/

I'll be playing guitar with a skilled bluegrass band backing anyone who wants to join us and lead a few tunes.

47 Hills is owned by a couple of friends I was in a band with some years back.

One of them was the West Coast Director of Gordon Biersch Brewing for 16 years.
These peeps bought all the tanks and gear when Gordon Biersch closed up their brewery (due to some book keeping shenanigans) some years back and moved it to a warehouse off S. Airport Rd near SFO.

These folks are making some fine beers and their restaurant is due to open in a few weeks.

Come on by tonight if you are on the Peninsula and not heading for TXR!

I been drinkin' a lot of Lagunitas lately. I usually start off with pilsner and then switch to IPA.

boognish on the old board hooked me up with a Sless stout through a trade. Saved it until the Sless/Warren Cap shows. Tasty stout.

Ironsprings recently released this:

Jam Session IPA

Session-style India Pale Ale brewed in collaboration with our friends at Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael. Light hoppy pale ale brewed with a touch of Rye malt and aggressively hopped in the late additions with Mosaic and Cascade hops to give it a spicy and very citrusy flavor and finish.

This used to be called 'Sless Stimulating Stout and I designed the first bottling label for the beer featuring Barry's digits playing pedal steel...

The name has  changed but the brew's the same:

Sless’ Oatmeal Stout

*WINNER, GOLD AWARD, 2008 & 2014 WORLD BEER CUP, OATMEAL STOUT*

*WINNER, GOLD MEDAL, 2016 GREAT AMERICAN BEER FESTIVAL, OATMEAL STOUT*

Dark, hardy, thick, rich, roasted and chocolaty, this ale is amazingly smooth due to the generous addition of whole oats.
Named for a friend of Iron Springs and easily the finest pedal steel player around, Barry Sless, this one is layered with flavors.

^^That's probably it, Treble.  I enjoyed it, FWIW.

In the bar, I love having a Lost Abbey - Judgment Day: thick as syrup and 10.5% alc/vol, served in a 10 oz snifter class.  Sweet and tasty.

^Before that came along, I was all over the Sless Stout.  Still have one of those every once in awhile.

Is it beer-o-clock yet?

I used to love stouts and porters, but over time got sick of them because it was all I ever ordered in college.

Lately digging the piney herbal notes of Lagunitas Little Sumpin', but the alc level is too high. It's dangerously delicious - just drinking two can be a ticket to hangover town and upset tummy.

The protein in a stout is excellent for feeding the psychedelic forearm muscles after a vigorous face melting workout.

For all you beer people KVMR is having a Craft Beer show

A Craft Beer Show on KVMR debuts March 17

https://sierrafoothillsreport.com/2017/03/03/a-craft-beer-show-on-kvmr-d...

A new show takes to the airways on KVMR 89.5 FM on Friday, March 17 at noon. The goal of the program is to promote craft beer knowledge and good beer appreciation and to entertain the listenership of KVMR radio’s audience.

The new program features two well-known personalities in the Nevada City-Grass Valley area, Tom Dalldorf and Wesley Robertson, nicknamed the “Suds Buds.”

Stream it here    http://www.kvmr.org/player/

We're so lucky to live in a time where microbreweries are going above and beyond to outdo one another. Our parents had to live with Heineken being a premium beer..Heineken..bleck.

Tom knows his stuff

Tom Dalldorf is editor and publisher of Celebrator Beer News, the oldest craft beer newspaper in North America (founded 1988), who has been in the beer, wine and food industry for nearly 40 years. He founded the Vintage Cellar Winebar Cafe in Hayward, Calif., in 1979, has lectured for UC Berkeley Extension on the Wines of California and Europe and judged at several major competitions including the American Wine Competition in New York and the West Coast Wine Competition in Reno.

^I remember seeing his Celebrator office at the Corner of Juana and Washington in San Leandro.  Those were the days....

Thanks for sharing, Bart.

Let me know whe you're back in town for an evening or two.

I hope that things are going well for you and yours.

Tulsa Chris should still be a zoner.  Must have been a large donation.

TC got himself banned without my assistance, something about anal sex on a Christmas thread. Glad I missed it. I'm so not sorry he's gone, but I can't accept the credit.

I CAN take credit for drinking another Lagunitas tonight :)

I recently switched from beer to vodka...

less calories, plus, all those cans in the recycling bin were making me look like I had a problemwink

It comes in cans?

untitled.png.4.pngapparently, it does

Does Alaska brewing still make their smoked porter? Man, I'd like to get my hands on some of that. Used to look all over Seattle for a place that scored a keg of that when it came around

I don't know if it's still on the market, but hey still list it on their website, hounder

https://alaskanbeer.com/our-beers/smoked-porter/

Thanks, Dise. Who wants to mail me a 6?wink

I think my Lagunitas might be brewed in Chicago. Not sure how I feel about that.

They might have better pizza there, but California water is what makes Lagunitas so delicious. Smh.

I buy growlers of this local brewery's Scottish Ale called Ten Penny Ale & Black & Tan called Dirty Penny Ale.  They are available at several local "Packy's" & are a Bargain @ $8.99 per growler.  Cheap thrills & a break from my usual Double IPA habit . . .

http://oldeburnsidebrewing.com/

I notice when I visit Lyn that Fat Tire is now available in the Phila/South NJ area, but it's brewed in Ashville NC, & tastes nowhere near as good as the original CO brew.

Quart Pacifico bottle just a Staple COLD when ya don't want to go Heavy.

Is it 5:00 yet? My liver needs feedin'.

figures sideshow is a flat tire guy

I am a pacifico fan too. Hope all is well rob.

Fat Tire ? = GROSS !

Thanks JR - Hope ALL Is Well your Way too !

>>>>>Fat Tire ? = GROSS !

Agreed.  I think I'd rather drink a Coors.

>>>Fat Tire ?

I had a buddy come up from Florida for a visit and we went to Johns Market, which sells around 1,000 types of beers and ciders.   Although the gates of beervana had opened, he left with a six pack of Fat Tire.

I was down in Costa Rica last week and was surprised to find locally produced and imported mircobrews.  The best one was this locally produced barleywine from Treintaycinco brewery that could go head to head with any Oregon brew:

Maltida Vida.jpg

Hmmm, I thought the original Fat Tire from CO back in the early '00's was pretty good, but back then the microbrew industry was still in it's infancy.  I will agree that any Fat Tire I've bought recently (brewed in Ashville) does not impress me @ all . . .

Don't know if quality matters but the Fat tire nutty recipe is gross.

Pizza Port Pilsner tall can

Ahhhh, yes, I also used to seek out Dead Guy Ale & Arrogant Bastard Ale, but nowadays, since Everyone & Their Brother has opened a NanoBrewery, I can find far better/ fresher/ cheaper locally . . . what Awesome times we live in . . . just gimme Legal Rec in MA, just across the Border . . .

..bardallisheartbeer-thumb-646x484-134673.jpg

Just picked up a growler of Rockslide IPA from Fifty Fifty. Apres-ski starting early today!

Dise that Looks empty = Filler Up smiley  I am pouring a fresh smiley

DuClaw Blood Orange IPA.

First sip is prettay prettay nice.

PLF I must admit I stole the picture because the thread needed some Saturday love, but I'm with ya, taking care of it now with a nice mild Sierra Nevada on the veranda with some GD Bill Graham Memorial sweetness :)

Anyone else get a contact high when they listen to shows they had a particularly electric time at? Holy boom.

Thinking about a Peach Lambic for sunset this evening.

Stop thinking and start doing...  smiley

Switched to Sierra Nevada for the gorgeous bbq weather.Nothing fancy but nice and cold, perfect for patio day drinkin'. laugh

The brewery blended various odds and ends from different batches of dark beers and aged them in bourbon barrels. Smooth and boozy. Great for the cold.

In the 80's today.

Lite. A fine pilsner beer.

thumb_image_413.jpg

Just visited the Adorindacks and discoverd this new brewery.

Paradox! Very well crafted beers with a secret Yeast Lab!

The Southern Hemishpere quality is right up there with the best and at 9.2% has no alcohol taste at all. It's  clean and crisp with flavors of  melons, tangerine, granola and a hint of grapefruit rind, with a dry as a bone finish.

Cannot wait to try the Baltic Porter a limited pre-sold out run that I was able to get my hands on!! And the barrel aged Tripel too.

oh and the is a Common Roots Daylight in there too.

image_415.jpgBetter photo

Nice^

>>>Lost Abbey - Judgment Day

Nice!

There's a little craft brewery around the corner from my wife's job - The Alementary. (http://www.alementary.com/ ) They do a really nice job. We've been living on growlers of their porter. They did a dry hopped stout recently that was outstanding. Sno Shoes Stout.

This is what is currently in the snow on the back porch -

Kardigan Altbier

5.7% ABV - 41 IBU

Maybe it wasn't Kurt's favorite beer, but it might be yours. A little malty, a little nutty, very drinkable German ale.

Trying a Manta Ray DIPA by Ballast Point.

Its really good.

Looked for it today and the store didn't carry the Manta Ray so I grabbed an oldie but goodie Anderson Valley Boont Amber and a Ninkasi Domination IPA for the weekend. Going to indulge a little from column A and column B this lovely afternoon on the patio with Jerry and John Kahn acoustic Portland, OR streaming to the stereo. Ahh

What ya tipping back?

This Imperial Stout is fantastic.

Cheers folks

Don't drink but know when folks work hard and deserve anything so effervescent and fun.
