It's going to take a little time to locate the shirts from way back. Some were falling apart, so we decided to use the graphic portion for quilts and pillowcases.  Here is one that became a quilt. Yes, I have made a quilt, but not any GD-related ones. I'll try to get the artists' names. This is from the late 70s.

That last shirt was by the late David George, originally from Stamford, CT. At some point, I showed art Professor William Dunning some of David's work and drawings. He called them "acid drawings". 

Who'd a thunk an Far From Me T-shirt exists, same artist and style. I can't explain the image :), but I can verify Dunning was astute, in that there were illicit chemicals involve. 

This thread got me thinking, and digging. I have never had any desire to buy stuff at concerts, and these two t-shirts are the only merch I have ever bought at a show, and both were bought at a couple of my earliest concerts.

This one was purchased at the 5th or 6th show I ever saw, at the Oakland Coliseum in '77, and is the one I had to remember and find. Amazingly, it lives on, found in a box after decades of darkness...

And this one I didn't have to search for, as it's one of my most prized possessions. Purchased at Winterland on NYE 1978, I basically lived in it for a VERY long time, until it was simply too small and ragged to wear.

But even after that, despite it being much too small, torn and wafer thin, for well over 30 years I carefully squeezed into it and wore it under my regular shirt once a year, every New Years Eve (which was a concert every year) up until just a couple of years ago when I finally stopped working or going to a show on that night. It always puts a smile on my face, and if I were going to be buried after I croak I'd be buried wearing it...
