Pierre Robert Has Passed Away

Forums:

Know him or not, he was a legendary DJ at Philly's WMMR radio station. Met him many of times, at concerts, on the street, or a friendly call in to the station. This beautiful man loved The Dead, his calming voice was the concourse messages announcements at many a Spectrum GD show. He rubbed my pregnant wife,s belly at a WMMR event and was a lovable nut who's enthusiasm and laugh was contagious. He still up to yesterday took requests!

Greeting Citizens!

Great Day In The Morning!

He was the real deal.

Love you forever my man.

Started in Philly in '81. I got tix to 'MMRs 25th Anny concert celebration handed to me from him in '93. David Crosby & Warren Zevon were on the bill.

He had a time back in the day (maybe he still did) when he would play"Dead Sets" 3-4 songs.

On Monday I happened to tune him in for a few.....

hes from san francisco, a dj on ksan. huge deadhead.  also loved a shit load of other music.

Met him a few times at a local club in Cherry Hill, NJ where he did Dead Head Sundays. I graduated HS in 1979 and he was the backdrop for me thru the years. MMR and WYSP were the stations in those days.

RIP to a cool guy and a Legend in Tri state area....everyone is going :(

Heard on classic rock WIOQ this morning, DJ's intro to Shakedown Street..God bless Donna Jean, Pierre Robert & the Grateful Dead...

Loved his this day in rock history segment, what bands played when & where over the last 50 years.  Mentioning clubs where U2 played in the early 80's where I saw Rob Hunter in the late 70's.

Same day 10/29, another legendary voice passed, Harry Donahue on the main news station in the area KYW, hired in 1974.
