Killing me with the thread title

Lame........

Click bait!

Hearing chatter about a notable Europe swing. Hopefully Neil adds East Coast shows on the way over the pond.

Come play the Britt, Neil!

The only thing for certain is that Neil will blow off the Bay Area. Sorry Woz:-(

He's playing solo in Lakefield, Ontario May 23, for what it's worth.

Without a doubt JP

Can Neil even get insurance to tour at this point.

"I got a screenshot of some leaked Dates for Neil's 2025 tour, I can't add the screen shot, but it looks like this was lifted from NY Archives, it has the light brown background, and some info on sustainable touring, which may have been put there, and later removed. It also lines up with his highy rumoured Saturday June 28th Glastonbuty Headline slot, and it looks like they are all outdoor like he previously said.

However as with all rumours - WAIT for official confirmation on Feb 24th

Looks like I might get the chance to spend my 65th birthday at Shoreline. I can work with that.

If those are accurate and Phish does their labor day weekend, that weekend has potential.

Bethel would work out wonderfully for me

Hey a Bay Area show, the king returns. And on a Friday night taboot. Might pen that one in.

East coast the only date that personally lines-up is Gilford NH. Anyone been to that venue? Decent?

Sucks.  As you depart, Cops set you up and then arrest you for anything.  Would never return.

Shoreline? Sheesh.

I was hoping for the Frost or Greek, but if that list is accurate it looks like a full Live Nation tour so that means Shoreline or Concord Pavilion in the BA.

Neil likes to talk the talk, but he's never turned away from a dollar either.

Still, it will be good to see him on that stage again, a lotta' history there.

>>>Sucks.  As you depart, Cops set you up and then arrest you for anything.  Would never return.

The Alabama of New England strikes again. Spent two different nights in jail in that state before I turned 18. One time for drinking around a fire at least a mile out in the woods. It's a good thing the Dead never played there.

Hey a Bay Area show, the king returns. And on a Friday night taboot. Might pen that one in.

Most definitely!

A few gaps in there. Doubt he'd take 3 days off between shows (Denver > Gorge, Vancouver > Bend), but you never know. Last summer he was supposed to play 2 nights at Deer Lake (Vancouver), so maybe they're keeping it open. Crazy Horse is a bigger draw, though.

Northern Europe in June should be awesome.. too bad no french dates or montreux even.. and I have to work

Keep in mind these are rumored dates only

> Can Neil even get insurance to tour at this point.

> Doubt he'd take 3 days off between shows

I wonder if these two things might be related. After the cancelations last year, maybe the insurance company is requiring a less taxing schedule?

It's official!!

Some European dates are double bill with Van Morrison

Zang:

^^If those are accurate and Phish does their labor day weekend, that weekend has potential.^^

Phish isn't doing the DIck's Labor Day run this year, opting instead for Folsom field July 3, 4, 5.

I didn't see the password below on Fishcane's note.  Hope I didn't just duplicate something, fyi below!!!

A ticket pre-sale for members of Neil Young Archives begins Tuesday, February 25th, with a Live Nation pre-sale following on Thursday, February 27th at 10:00 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster (use code DUET). A public on-sale will then take place on Friday, February 28th at 10:00 a.m. local time.

Guessing that dates will be added after the Denver and Vancouver shows.  Maybe a second night at each or at the Gorge.  Shoreline or the Hollywood Bowl might get a show added too.

Would love to go to the European tour opener in Sweden.  That's the 6000 seat venue in an old rock quarry in the middle of a forest that has some of the best acoustics in the world.  Most likely. I'll take the easiest route and just go to the Gorge.

"More dates will be added shortly."

double bill with Van... hmmm Bergan for the almost solstice.. Dublin the 26th . See whats dooable ..

They got both ends of the political spectrum covered with that lineup

I doubt he'll need to add a second night at the Gorge or any other large venue unless there's another big-name act on the bill. He played with POTR at The Wamu and Paramount theaters. Chrome Hearts are basically POTR, with Spooner instead of Lukas, and no bongo guy.

Micah

Remember that you need to be on a computer to access via NYA for presale today. No apps or phones and make sure you are an annual subscriber, NOT on monthly payments

I was able to get pits for both Toronto and Bethel

just got Bergen and Dublin tickets, From fortress to Castles ..now I gotta check the work schedule

I'm aware of the song reference, but it's funny 'Chrome Hearts' has the same initials as 'Crazy Horse'.

Jays are at home in Toronto at 1:30 against the Rangers so gonna make it a double header

I got 102 Row K for Shoreline, I am happy.

Thanks for the code I'm in for Shoreline

Shoreline isn't going to work for me, but I got tickets for the Hollywood Bowl show.

If music was like the stock market and we all invested when we were young, which we did, we should all be going for free now. I think it's cheaper to crash the gate and risk bail these days then buy a ticket to see Neil.

There is a reason his shirt says Earth , not Earthling.

Interesting as the pit ticket I purchased for Toronto was $168 after exchange rate. I think Dylan is the only other A lister you can crack the front with for that kind of $$. Bethel was a bit more but still not unreasonable at 218$ imho

I was kind of surprised that Neil tickets were a bit pricier than the Outlaw Fest at the Hollywood Bowl.

Significantly less here than Outlaw

Which is what I would expect for one big name versus three. Go figure. I wonder if it was a dynamic pricing thing.

Skiing up here at Mt Bachelor and went over to the venue box office for Hayden Holmes. The venue is TINY and the locals just poach the show from outside the gates. ( oh coursed drinking the obligatory Hazy IPA)...

That's awesome

here's a fun run

Phish PDX > Phish BGCC > then Neil and Stephen 4/26 at LA Greek

https://jambands.com/news/2025/02/26/for-what-its-worth-neil-young-steph...

> Wow

Indeed, and then some.

I wonder if they'll invite Elon Musk to that event?

One thing about that guy, he's single-handedly raising autism awareness to new heights.

Or new lows.

Either way, he's sure got people talking about it.

>>It's a good thing the Dead never played there.<<

The GD did play in NH, at Dartmouth in 1978.

Regarding Neil, I love him, and would love to see him.
Unfortunately, as with all of his shows in recent years, I am priced out.

Hopefully they remember to thank him

The platinum tickets for the Hollywood Bowl show were reduced to regular face price today!

Looks like they did the same for Jones Beach, seems tickets are not selling that well there. But Bethel Woods is sold out except for lawn, go figure.

Neil's Deal good for him to say F U to the system, once again

89 -99 euros for the Dublin shoe

Ukraine not happening

>>>Neil's Deal good for him to say F U to the system, once again<<<

It makes him look good to his fans and it can give fans a small chance of getting a better seat for face, but mostly all that does is make the scalpers happy and gives them more opportunities to make the extra coin instead of those putting on the show.

Now, does he also have Ticketmaster's "resale only at face" function turned on?

That's also a gimmick mostly for show since people/scalpers can still use Stubhub and other resale sites to gouge tix, but it does make the artist look good.

Neil Young: "I will never sell Premium tickets for my concerts again".
The singer-songwriter's initiative follows the words of Robert Smith of The Cure, according to whom all this has nothing to do with the essence of a rock concert: "We don't need to make all this money. The market is potentially unlimited, but it is not necessary to follow it. If people save on tickets, they will buy beer or merchandise. And then they will come back next time. It is a way to create a positive and satisfying atmosphere for everyone, I don't understand why others don't do it".

#neilyoung #robertsmith #thecure good boi

whats a ticket nowadays like 3 beers?

It's a lot easier to take this stance when tickets aren't moving and unfortunately a lot of these shows just aren't selling.

Face value for Shoreline 100 section is basically Premium price anyway

Platinum removed from The Gorge as well. Pit tickets are roughly the same price he was charging at The Wamu 10 years ago, but I don't expect the shows to be that long anymore.

I don't understand why shoreline so much more $$

I don't understand why shoreline so much more $$<<<

The sheer proliferation of Bay Area baby boomers who have considerable expendable income via their previous stock option sales and/or real estate maneuverings. The same demo who are currently considering trading in their Tesla X for a BMW X5.

So every show at Shoreline is more $$ compared to other venues ? I never noticed such a discrepancy

It looks like Hollywood Bowl tickets cost more than Shoreline. The few remaining tickets for Section 100 at Shoreline are just over $250, and tickets at the Bowl in the comparable Garden section are just over $300. The Bowl is also still listing Platinum Charity tickets in the Garden section, which go for about $450.

Also, I'm not seeing a lot of virtue in selling Platinum tickets for a few weeks until it became clear that sales are soft.

Right. Hollywood Bowl was the craziest. I was watching prices for a while. The platinum pool and box seats were $500 to $1000+ (and some actually sold at those prices), so when they dropped to $300+ they finally started selling again.

The good news is the resellers are stuck now.

In for one more Neil show at the Shoreline

Hope the Chrome Hearts can F*!#in' rock

Just got back from the Dublin Gig, ummm it was raining pretty steady, but Glad we went, Van the Man opened with a sweet set too Into the mystic to open, keep on rocking in A Free World to close

Van and Neil in the rain in Dublin sounds like a special night, Tom.

Hope you are faring okay with the heatwave in Southern France, and that some of that rain comes your way.

Neil's Glastonbury set got high marks from the BBC review.  Sounds like the Chrome Hearts are rounding into form!

Picked up a pair for the Chateau St. Michelle show in Woodinville.  Too bad the Gorge show got scratched, but the vineyard is a decent venue, a closer trek, and they have good wine.

Here is the Full Glastonbury gig

Neil was absolutely sensational last night in Toronto...   This Notes For You(first in almost 30 years) perfect breakout for Budweiser Stage....my track record for getting the rail is hot this year, got front row dead center with only about a 3 hour lineup before doors...

19. Rockin' In The Free World

Dead center rail is impressive.  Was it a GA pit up front?  I'm guessing you were at/near the front of the 3 hour wait line?  Was running involved?

Nope no running involved. We were among first ten lined up(got there at 3:30), security walked the first 50 of us down in a very orderly fashion, single file and then set us loose at the entrance to the floor. I have no idea why but the first few started to claim their spots right in front of Spooner(way right) so we were able to get right in the center just left of Neil's mic so all group huddle jams were right in front of me. Insane luck for a 3:30 arrival

IMG_9294.jpeg

Wonderful!

I've been following these setlists. Looks like a longshot for a Powderfinger. Great images and thanks for the review, Fishcane.

There were at least 4 songs last night stretching into the 12 minute range( Ambulance, Cowgirl, Sun Green, Hurricane)  and the one- two slot Ambulance-Cowgirl is a heck of an opening...  really dug getting the deep cut CSNY tunes plus Tumbleweed and Daddy, but also pretty interesting to me is how many crowd pleasers he throws in nowadays. Ohio, Southern Man, Old Man type stuff...unheard of in past years to get a set like this. Pretty wild to get This Note. The build up to it was palpable, he referenced the renaming of the Bud Stage  to the Freshwater Amphitheater several times throughout the show so by the time we got to the encore,  it was still a surprise, but was perfectly fitting to the night.. I'd fully expect an epic to appear at Toronto 2 but am hoping he saves a good one for Bethel. I'm still waiting for him to finish a halted Cortez I once saw him start

Wow!

Looking froward to the Shoreline show!

See you freaks at Bethel woods....  Coyotte~

Jones Beach featured an interesting move, they cancelled all pit tickets and moved them into the seats due to possible flooding from Erin... consequently, Neil played in front of an empty pit and dropped Hurricane. But also added Long Walk Home for the first time since the 80s... I'll be at bethel with my daughter

I went last night with my wife , brother, and daughter.  It was great.  Too bad my son had to work.
Neil is amazing.
Have fun in Bethel!

Nice to see Fuckin Up back in the set too

I got 2 6th row center stage pavilion for tonight if anyone wants to go...

You're killing it

They had 6 pit tickets open up at the box office when we got here and my daughter is with me so could not pass up chance to put her on the rail so bought 2

excellent

teach your children well

Tickets claimed

Another great Neil gig... pit was TINY(only 65 tickets sold and not more than 3 deep)

couple rough edges and a nice audible Long Walk Home that was a fun scramble to watch but Neil was in a great mood and exclaimed between a viscous Southern Man and Ohio that "I can't even tell what year it is anymore" poignant and biting...

few Woodstock references and the local connection Roll another Number

my daughter loved the show, the rail and hanging with the Rusty crew...

Great show and Great score Fish!!!!  Saw a few zoners  about. Sound was great a beautiful day out!!!     As far as I know, Noone was left for Dead!!!!

That's because they're probably vending oxygen instead of nitrous at Neil's shows these days.

Anyone else used this Bus to Shoreline from the city. They need 25 more to make it a go.

https://rally.co/neil-young-mountain-view

Neil's a rocker, for sure.

I'm getting exited for the Hollywood Bowl show. We have tickets for Chicago the night before too.

Anyone else attending?

Whoever sent me the Fiddlers Green show, thanks!!!

Jazfish, I'm sorry to say I won't be there. I had tickets for the Bowl, but had something else come up this weekend. I was hoping to finally meet you.

Mike , I thinkyou are not far from LA. I was hoping to meet you too. I'm about to start doing some travel and hoping for next time.

I'm ready to meet some good folks from the black sceen.

By the way , he's playing Powderfinger. yes

Gonna be killer!

I'm still planning on being at Shoreline on Friday. I haven't been following the tour news and I haven't looked at any posts on this thread since the tour started because I don't want to know what he's playing, but I just got some info on the Shoreline show that might be useful, if it hasn't already been covered.

I'm told that the show has sold around 10K, which after seeing the prices is about what I thought it would do, and it will make navigating the ol' Dump easier.

Here's projected run times...

Gates at 6:00

Reverend Billy and the Stop Shopping Choir 7:45 - 8:15

Neil 8:30 - 10:30

I figured Neil's set would be in the 1:45 - 2:00 range at best and I'm expecting him to start closer to 9:00 and finishing closer to 11:00, but having not followed the tour or this thread maybe he's starting on time to give himself a little leeway to go longer if he's feeling it. Or maybe that's just wishful thinking. Either way, I'll be in my seat at 8:30 just in case.

The gods know I'm not feeling it much these days, but I'm going to really try to make this one. Neil at the 'line has a long and storied history. He's performed there close to 60 times but hasn't played there since 2016, and hasn't plugged in an electric guitar there since 2012.

The three electric Crazy Horse "shows" at Shoreline in 2012 were full sound, full lights dress rehearsals for an upcoming tour with strict security all around the venue to keep people out, yet somehow there was one solitary soul in the venue on the third night, lurking in the very last seat in the very top row of the far corner upper section. I can't imagine how he slipped by security, but I have it on good authority that the band fully blazed through 2+ hours of songs and he thought it was fucking great. Lucky guy.

It will mean a lot for me to see Neil there again, maybe for the last time, so godamn it, I'm...

GOING TO THE SHOW!!!

Right on, Lance. Glad you're going. HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!

Any Zoners going to the Hollywood Bowl on Monday?
I'm flying in for the final show of the tour and it'll be my first time at the Bowl
I'll be attending with another old school Zoner. Look for me if you make it.

btw, anyone hitting Shoreline should consider this the next day... (see pic at the top)

Section J , Spacehed. Looking forward.

Bend got 2 more songs than the Woodinville show.  Looks like a good show.  I was a little underwhelmed at the Chateau.  It was still good, but about the most pedestrian Neil Young show I've attended.  Maybe it was the pinot gris.

Looking forward to seeing Neil at the ol' Dump one more time tomorrow!

I'll be in section 202 tomorrow night as long as the cats health holds up.

I attended both Burnaby shows and they were solid. My only complaint is they were a bit short at just over 100 minutes. He played almost 30 minutes longer at both shows in Toronto, and 10 - 20 minutes longer at many other shows on the tour, but maybe it was quality over quantity.

I can't wait.

Hedspace, we're section J2 Row 21 seat 1.  Hope to shake a hand.

Jazfish ~ Section G2 Row 20 Seats 1 & 2

See you there for sure.yes

Well, I honestly wasn't expecting much, and for me at least I got just about what I expected.

Now for the first time looking at set lists, I see he's played better then I saw tonight, but ultimately I doubt a few different or extra songs would have mattered much.

There are many ways to critique the Shoreline show, but I'll just say that for me it was as good as his band is.

And I didn't think his band was very good.

It was fine, and I know I bring a standard to Neil shows that is likely unfair, but still, overall, beyond all my personal things going on, ultimately it was meh.

The drummer... meh. The bass... too loud & meh. Particle Dude (Nepo Nelson) was worthless, and Spooner Oldham, god love him, was not noticeable at all.

Neil just didn't have anything to work with, but finally toward the end they got it going at bit.

I turned to my friend toward the end of Hey Hey, My My late in the set, which was (finally) rockin' and said, "THIS is how the show should have STARTED!"

Neil is a very old dude and he is still great, but even if he doesn't jam out his songs like he used to, he needs a WAY better band to push him into those spaces that only Neil Young can find.

Maybe that has happened at other shows on this tour, but I seriously doubt it.

Still, he's Neil fucking Young and there were moments, Harvest Moon in particular hit hard, Old Man was great and the final two or three songs really got going, but overall, memories of much better times were the theme for me.

Shoreline

Encore:
20. Rockin' In The Free World

Sorry you got the bad show of the tour, Lance.

It was worth it for Sail Away

Loved the show last night, but I don't have much history seeing him live, but for me the show was perfect. Did not feel like I was listening to a 79 year old sing on the second to last show of a world tour.

Emotional show for my wife who lost her brother earlier this year. He used to work at Shoreline and Neil was one of his favorites. He is in the Sky Bar now that Neil kept pointing out.

I heard the show was excellent from multiple attendees. Wish I could have made it.

Hollywood Bowl should be a great night.

I thought the show was great. Viewing it in the context of the Bend set list, yeah, maybe it was weak. That said the performance itself was excellent.

Again, for me gearing Neil play Sail Away one last time was worth every penny I spent abd the effort that it takes to go to Shireline from Fairfax in 2025.

It's good to hear that folks enjoyed the show. Almost everyone I've spoken with thought it was really good, and I didn't think it sucked, I enjoyed it too, I just know how much farther Neil can go, and more importantly I failed at executing the all-important "leave expectations at the door" showgowing technique. I guess I'm just out of practice.

I'm hoping that felina pops in here to give us his take. I don't know anyone who is a bigger Neil fan and I'm fairly certain that he's seen multiple shows on this tour, he's probably in LA right now.

Neil is in good form and felina really liked this band when Neil toured with them before, so I'm betting he'll be thumbs up on these shows as well, but I'll be interested in hearing his review.

Ultimately, I think it's great that Neil is still on the road, playing well and satisfying audiences, and I hope he realizes that at his age the time for that is now and he keeps touring with an electric band.

And for the record I post from my cell phone and have fat thumbs so sorry for all the typos....

Tom, all I can say is yeah, maybe  it wasn't like the old days at OPL but we're all old and on the right side of the dirt,Neil played and that is what matters

I look like this.

Fair enough. But...Who's the guy on the right, then?

Felina is doing well and hit Bend and Shoreline.  From the texts I received, he loved the shows.
I'll see if I can coax him over here for some reviews...

Great pic, Jazfish. Have a great show tonight.

My wife and I are beat up . A lot of walking seems like fucking uphill everywhere. What a great shoe. I gotta recoup  a little.  Updates later . Cool meeting Hedspace.
