I remember bitchin about 6 pack first sets in the 80 $

Bobby sounded terrible

They should fly in Eaton to finish off the shows. Put Bobby in a nice chair where he can drink wine and eat charcuterie.

Bobby did indeed sound like shit. His vocals were all growling. Maybe it's a health thing? Or just first show jitters?

>>.I remember bitchin about 6 pack first sets in the 80 $

Not to mention two songs post drums + encore.

Wharf Rat  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sNOFxdKB1U&list=RD8sNOFxdKB1U&start_rad...

Is Oteil channeling Phil by using a chair?  How many thousands of fans wish they had one?

Billy and his Boys saved the show.  Poor Bob.  Dude slows down the jams for sure and I get that, but always has strong vocal deliveries.  Last night though.  Keep hearing that "don't worry about me" during Estimated and thinking "yo Bob, we are worried." Hope it was just a cold.  Rest up brother for tonight.

Listening to the playback on Sirius and sounds like they have taken a lot off of that ole knuckleball they have been making a living on

I'm sure the party is fun, enjoy

I thought Bob's vox were interesting, he seems to be going for a Dylanesque delivery which fits some songs better than others. Love him. Mayer's vocals on the other hand bug the shit out of me. I'd probably like D&C if mayer didn't sing at all.

i think bobby needs to don this for the next two nights, both for psychedelic inspiration and to entertain a fan or 60k during a meandering jam.

maybe throw in a wand to wave around and alert the band re: tempo changes and whatnot.

thoughts?

Yeah Billy and Graham were the highlights of  the show. Really nice to hear the bass turned up in the mix during the Playing jam which was great, and then right back down when Oteil took over. When Wharf Rat is the show stopper it says something.

LOL at the "tepid NFA crowd participation noticed that too, but it was cold. Wonder how much that played into the show last night. Dead Co has always been a slow starter out of the gate and it's the first time in a long time where they haven't played in a climate controlled place.

Party was fun and logistics were perfect. Security really focused on getting people in, although that 34th Ave exit on the Sunset side is a disaster waiting to happen.

On to Saturday.

Imagine, for a moment, that Universe where, in 2015, Elmo Lovano introduces Bob Weir to a young, unknown bluegrass prodigy named William Apostol.

No corporate buyout. No Poison Dwarf. Phil still playing in the band.

What a decade that must have been!

But, all the same, it is probably better for Billy to raise his own animal. Something vital. Something that lives and breathes.

Bob did have a hat like that for the Crusader Rabbit Stealth Band.

On the Sirius broadcast the second set sounds a lot better than the first

well it's only rock and roll

"add to cart", lol.

caught from terrapin on. no reason to comment...

how the hell did people get to the late show(s)? from the park? i don't understand the logistics

>>>how the hell did people get to the late show(s)? from the park? i don't understand the logistics

I was wondering about that too. Isn't it a pretty good haul from GGP? I bet the Uber and Lyft drivers were loving that surge pricing.

I've listened to many a show the opening night of a run where Weir sounds awful but he always comes back strong. I expect him to sound much better tonight. Vocally, that is. Turn that goddamn guitar down in the mix though. Please.

>>>that 34th Ave exit on the Sunset side<<<

Is that where the shuttles to the BG Civic and Cow Palace are picking up? I have a friend who's thinking of going tomorrow and using those shuttles but is worried about general crowd madness, which is usually the case for any type of public transportation after events, but I was warning her that it could be REALLY bad for this one.

Any first-hand reports on how that worked?

>>> I remember bitchin about 6 pack first sets in the 80s

Butt butt butt... I recall a one-song post-drums set and no encore that was absolutely killer and nobody was shouting REFUND!

Morning Dew... the difference maker.
