I like orange Mussolini.

I was thinking of the cover of Rush's A Farewell To Kings might be good....

Without love in the dream it'll never come true.

Deport Nazis

Four dead in Ohio

Don't shoot I'm just here for pussy *goes over better if you're a woman

We're going, too.

Maybe, "No Kings" and an orange Turd with a Crown?

Tater Tots - Yes!

Dick Taters - No!

starfish, jackoroses, thanks for going. It matters.

" Liberate America, Deport The Pedodent Back To Hell"

Fuck Fascism

Also:

(((((Good Trouble)))))))

Starfish and Jack where all are you protesting?

86/47

Service workers know that 86'd means get out and don't come back, ever.

Couple block walk from home for me.

It will be very interesting to see the level of participation nationwide.

Two protests in Mo Town.

One at the University of Utah 10-11:30 AM (SLIndivisible) and one at a park with a march to the fed building  6- 8 PM. (50501)  Gonna be 97 degrees Saturday.

Couldn't get the Capitol as it was reserved for a soap box derby a while ago.

Had a big immigration march downtown tonight. Couple of MAGATs started fights.

I'm thinking a playing card theme. On one side a pic of the front of a standard card deck King of Diamonds, with a circle and slash and the legend "No Kings!"

On the other side maybe the slogan "I bid One No-Trump"

GTTD.

Please don't set anything on fire.

Dang! I was planning to burn one at the demo. smiley

As long as you're keeping it peaceful

I hope to see and hear us all on Saturday.

Stay safe and aware but Make Some Noise!!

I'm heading to my local No Kings protest in Westerly, RI.

My first choice for a sign is the always dependable:

M - Morons

A - Are

G - Governing

A - America

Some blowhard with a badge in Florida says they are going to kill protesters if they get out of line. All the loonies are feeling tough.

^^^^ Seems the tough loonies definition of "get out of line" now includes using your freedom of speech rights.

So they are going to kill people for exercising a constitutional right to free speech!

They Are The GoonSquad and they're coming to town

BEEP BEEP!

In old Monterey... https://www.ksbw.com/article/no-kings-protest-weekend-central-coast-cali...

Hopefully, the protests nationwide and in DC dwarf the parade attendance to such a scale that it ends up being the only thing that is reported on. The only thing that really matters.

So mote it be.

>Some blowhard with a badge in Florida says they are going to kill protesters

where's this killing gonna be done

tell that bastard I'll be down on Highway 41 (corner of 41 & Daniel's Parkway that is)

Time to dust off the old US Out Of California that used to be US Out Of Humboldt.

These are the people who will be lighting shit on fire and the media will only report it months later.

The Hands Off protests in April had ~1300 organized gatherings.  There are over 2000 gatherings planned for tomorrow.

Get out there!

Here is the cnn link to the Florida sheriff who wants to kill protesters.

https://www.cnn.com/2025/06/13/us/video/florida-sheriff-warns-protesters...

Oh yeah.   I'm pissed!!!  We all should be.

Peace, and liberty!

Hey, now, Birds
Wouldn't you rather die
Than walk this world when we're born to fly?

Unfortunately, violence this weekend is almost a certainty, because:

a) Throughout history righteousness has always spurred violence.

b) Some people are just assholes or fools who think violence is the only way to get their message across.

But mostly...

c)  Because groups like the Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, Patriot Front and many others are going to openly oppose the protests and will very likely also pose as No Kings protesters and create violence to give the right a reason to say all these people are enemies of the state and must be crushed.

So, keep a vigilant eye out for anyone starting shit and point them out, and resist the urge to lash out/don't take the bait. Put flowers in the gun barrels instead.

Remember, who and what you're protesting WANTS violence at these demonstrations, it helps their cause and makes them stronger, please don't feed the beast you're trying to kill.

And be careful out there.

Don't take the bait...

Poster idea...Where Is The Love?

Big crowds all over the nation, including this morning in Utah. Great showing, America. I wonder what comes of it? Turning sentiment into action.

What will happen now?

Trump only thinks he's an emperor, as seen by my sister at the gathering in SF today

Peaceful crowds in Portland... at least 3X larger than the march in April!

Zero police presence in Shreveport, LA with around 1500 constant protesters numbers in Shreveport, Louisiana.  A few agitators driving by with protesters overwhelmingly washing out their automobile pa systems.

No issues.

Over 10K marchers estimated here in Portland, I'm proud.

EASILY 2500 in Grants Pass today

STUNNING

i live in what has been traditionally one of the most conservative areas in the country.

i dunno how many were there, but THOUSANDS. 5+? The street was double lined for like a mile? I dunno, I couldn't see the end. PCH lined. I was pretty surprised by the turn out. Lots of very clever signs. I am proud of my fellow citizens. Nice to not feel alone.

there were cops on the corner, stayed mellow. There was a ghetto bird and a drone....later saw a militarized tank truck dork wagon drive down the street.

Orange Co, CA.

i was impressed.

Seattle's main protest drew over 70,000 and remained peaceful.  There was also a crowd of 1000 at UW's Red Square earlier as graduation ceremonies were happening.  I ran regular store hours, and missed the actions, but the energy on the streets was palpable.  At one point I stepped outside to be met by a huge crowd of people headed to the light rail to get to Capitol Hill.

So, what now?

4 - 6 million nationwide about 2% of the population. Cops telling protesters they will be shot didn't keep people away. MN Governor telling people to stay home because he was concerned about their safety after what happened there didn't keep people home in MN.

The '3.5% rule': How a small minority can change the world

https://bbc.com/future/article/20190513-it-only-takes-35-of-people-to-change-the-world

Side note seriously FUCK the New York Times. They had one article yesterday that said tens of thousands protested and not one mention today. Under Obama they breathlessly covered the Tea Party protests that were much smaller saying they threatened the the Obama administration.

Shooting in Salt Lake. One man died.  https://www.fox13now.com/news/local-news/northern-utah/1-person-critical...

This is all very confusing at this point. Not sure who did the shooting. This story seems to indicate maybe they were shot by march security people, who ran. Others have said the guy with the rifle did the shooting. Seems weird. Hoping for some clarity soon but whatever it is, one person is dead.

Cops said last night there's lots of video to go through.

Statement from Utah 50501 from around midnight last night. Odd that the local news outlets still had the man in critical condition on their websites this morning.

50501 statement_0.jpg

That hurts. There were so many good safe gatherings... I hope this might be the first and last incident of this type.  heart

no kings_0.jpg

At least 3K in Corvallis. Here's my sign.

Nice sign, Surfdead. There were around 5,000+ in Eugene, but one of the 2 local Sinclair-owned TV stations said 100's in a few posts on social media. They did post thousands once. Accuracy counts.

3x more than any previous rally here.

Never enough...

Yo Astro, you ever eat at the palace cafe?

I've stopped there a few times when I come thru ellensburg

OK, while I don't want the shooting in SLC to dominate this joyous thread of people standing up (GREAT pic, Judit!), I'll post the official police report so the facts are there.

Also, I'll post the link to the Go Fund Me for the man who was shot, Arthur Folasa Ah Loo, a 39 year-old a designer from Samoa with a wife and two children. A state legislator told of how he offered her a seat in a car to ride in last week's Pride parade.  He became a citizen recently, and proudly voted in his first election in November. A real loss for the local Pacific Islander community.

Slick can you tell us more about these "peacekeepers"?

because honestly it sounds like some kind of self styled cop-adjacent militia

I feel like I'm living in Russia with the news blackout. This is arguably the biggest demonstration against a President in the history of the US and nothing in the New York Times and Washington Post. One article way down the page on on CNN about the person killed in SLC.

MAGA went on a politically motivated killing rampage this weekend and there is more coverage of the Trump phone. Not one headline about the killer in MN being MAGA through and through. Instead we have Republican Senator Mike Lee making jokes about the killing on social media. No surprise that that SLC had the shooting.

>>>Slick can you tell us more about these "peacekeepers"?

They have those at a lot of protests here in Portland.  One of them did end up saving a bunch of lives by taking down the shooter in Normandale Park a few years ago:   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Normandale_Park_shooting

The peacekeepers were working WITH Utah 50501. Whether they were paid security hired by them or "volunteers," I don't know.

If you scroll down to the video in this link https://www.fox13now.com/news/local-news/northern-utah/1-person-critical...

where it says "Peacekeeping' volunteer speaks below with police officers after the shooting," I'm thinking that's one of the peacekeepers being questioned by police. He directs them to where the rifle-toting guy took off to.

If this guy had an AR-15 and was able to start shooting, many more would have been killed or wounded. Sad that an innocent bystander marching with the crowd was hit.

They stopped this MAGA person from drawing their gun in Pueblo CO

thanks guys

so many guns out there

I do find hope in the incompetence

> Yo Astro, you ever eat at the palace cafe?

Once in awhile but there are better places. You come through very often?

i don't understand how these peacekeepers felt ok shooting into a crowd, if i am reading that correctly.

Jill, the last line in the second paragraph of the police report above says he was running toward the crowd with the AR-15 in a firing position.

Tough choice, but almost a "kill or be killed" situation. And there's no time to weigh the options. An instant decision is needed.

I believe a clip of rounds in an AR-15 holds 30 bullets. So his actions may have saved many other lives. We could be talking a massacre of 25 people. Still horrible.

Nezza sang National Anthem in Spanish at the dodgers game.. can't wait to see the heads explode over that
