This is a war of optics and we have to counter the images of the guys riding around a burning car on dirt bikes flying the Mexican flag. Nothing wrong with the Mexican flag (after all California was taken by the US from Mexico in a war of aggression and conquest), but throw in some old glories to help with the narrative that this is an American struggle.

This immigration issue is one he can win with the public on in general, but his implementation is being panned. But not enough to really hurt him.
Meanwhile, his bill to destroy so much of what's good about this country is on the back burner and out of the headlines. Just how he and the repubs want it.
