Hands down, quite possibly my favorite "comeback" pop single ever... 17 years of zero band output, Blondie just drops this in out of nowhere, just because ...

very unusual show, lots of songs have portions with slightly altered arrangements, youve got people busting out very uncommon tones/effects on their instruments, most all songs have unusuallt high JRAD-esque tempos. this is a very early show for brent so i guess theyre intentionally trying lots of new things during this period? idk. the results are pretty wonderful.

Noice

It was easy for me to make fun of and look past this music in 1984..... my thoughts have changed about a lot of it, I even saw a Culture Club show a few years ago and found it highly entertaining

this is great, thanks for this! im going to listen to the full thing when ive got a few moments that are right to really sit down and give  it a listen.

this show seems very very similar to the kinds of bands and shows we see get put together today and over the past few decades by the local bay area jam scene and the slightly less than local group of players that orbit it. sort of like a little window into what that scene might have looked like if jerry stuck around.

Jerry told Nick he would play that show on the condition that he didn't have to sing

It was a benefit show for Brian Wilson.
You can read about him here: https://johndear.org/the-road-to-transformation-a-conversation-with-bria...

Small Walk-in Box is my favorite tune from this one.

Inspired by Nick getting accidentally locked in a restaurant freezer or something once.
