Rumor is that they were going to "officially" announce the dates this past week, but being that the West Coast run included LA, they held off to see what would happen and whether they would need to change venues. Seems like every other band has dropped spring dates by now.
Submitted requests for the SF and LA runs through Phish tickets. Once again fucking denied!
I only got shut down ONCE from GDTS (Red Rocks 1987, never saw or even tried for NY run sadly) and didn't see that many GD shows compared to most but this seems to continually occur.
First world problems I know, will try that TicketBastard way tomorrow. anyone else in for the California run of the spring Phish Tour?
Because I'm now old and irrelevant I don't have my "innie" status anymore, so after being denied from the Phish lottery I had to slum it with the common rabble on TM this morning.
At 8,500 the Bill Graham Civic is half the capacity of virtually all the other venues they play and is always a very tough ticket, so I'm more than slightly surprised that with just a bit of effort I scored for both S.F. shows.
Unlike many, I'm happy they're back at the Civic, which is a down & dirty old-school rock hall and is my favorite local venue to see Phish. The Greek is excellent too, but especially on weeknights it's brutal to get there from where I'm coming from and overall is a pain to deal with for an old-timer like me.
I'm guessing that because of the jumper a couple of years ago the band would rather not go back to the cavernous Chase Center, or maybe it's not available because of possible, if unlikely, Warriors playoff games.
Either way, it's fun to have a couple of rock shows to look forward to. Now I just have to make myself actually go.
The Moda center only had nosebleed seats left for over a Benjamin, or behind the stage for almost a Benjamin (before fees). Meh, maybe i'll pay for the stream...

Like yourself i got denied but had no issues getting into Ticketmaster right away and scoring BGCC tix. Yesterday I got the Hollywood Bowl tix quickly and easily w/o minimal waiting as well via Ticketbastard.

I checked and Kylie Minogue has it booked on 4/22. So glad they are back at the BGCC and it's GA, coolest scene there can be these days.
>>>behind the stage for almost a Benjamin (before fees)<<<
In my humble opinion that's the best place to be for an arena Phish show, unless you like their bombastic lights constantly blasting in your eyes.
They always have speakers pointed that way so the sound is usually fine, and from that spot their futuristic lighting rig is amazing and trippy to watch operate as it blinds everyone else, plus the view of the lit crowd is psychedelic as well.
In an arena that probably where I'd end up even if my seat was somewhere else in the venue.
Kicks off in earnest tomorrow in Seattle. We will be on the floor both nights in Seattle. Then the epic return of Phish to Portland on 4/20! 26 years in the making.
Fun show last night. Sand and Tube were the highlights for me. Crowded AF down on the floor but most people were behaving themselves, except for the people in the ASL section next to us. We like to be right beside CK's station on Mike side at this venue, which is also immediately adjacent to the ALS section and it's often interesting watching the sign language interpreters doing their thing with flair and enthusiasm. But there were some fucked up people in that section, all drunk and falling over with other people talking to each other in sign language about how messed up they were.
Wasn't keeping score Racket, but there were a small handful of black people. Overwhelming white and more dudes than ladies. I will post about the older Japanese couple in the Show Demographics thread
Are you down on floor Dave? If so, come and say high. Little tired from last night will probably move to the very back of the floor so we can lean on the railing. Look for the bright orange Billy Strings hat. Can't miss it.
I went over to the local dispensary to get some pre-rolls for tonight this morning. The chick-a-dee budtender was pleasant and helpful, and I told her I was getting these to pre-game with my buddy who was kicking down a ticket for the Phish show tonight. She replied, "How are you preparing it?" One of her colleagues pointed out they were playing at Climate Pledge tonight.
I'm not sure what the ethnic breakdown tonight, but it looks like I'm hanging out with the Olds tonight.
We're not on the floor, Ken, but up in 203. We are pre-gaming 6:30ish on the south side of the fountain if you care to join. I am wearing white, black and orange Baltimore Orioles baseball hat with the smiling bird.
Too bad we missed you, Ken. We ended up pre-gaming on the west side of the fountain, by some loud nitrous dealers. It was crazy how wide open the police were letting the tanks run in Seattle Center, both before and after the show. One thing about the Phish scene that hasn't changed. Was glad to escape all that after smoking some joints and walking in.
Our seats were up to the left of the stage, looking down right over Paige and Trey. Cool spot to watch the machinations of the lighting rig from. The sound was fantastic with a whole rack of speakers pointed at us. The floor did look very crowded, but while it was fun watching the crowd moving and grooving, it was nice to have a good seat with some space, and easy access to the concessions and restrooms.
I was surprised to not see or smell hardly any weed being smoked inside. Guess Climate Pledge shuts down all smoking?
It was also different to see no glow sticks being thrown until the encores, when at all the other Phish shows in Washington I'd been to there were boatloads thrown. Chinese tariffs?
The band sounded dialed in on Night 2 with lots of the expected epic jamming. Trey looked animated and in good form. The rest of this tour should be a treat for fans.
>>>Our seats were up to the left of the stage, looking down right over Paige and Trey. Cool spot to watch the machinations of the lighting rig from. The sound was fantastic with a whole rack of speakers pointed at us<<<
That or directly behind the stage is my preferred post-up for Phish. The sound is usually excellent and watching that futuristic lighting rig operate is far more entertaining to me than the annoying and endless blasting of those over-busy lights in my eyes.
I'm looking forward to the shows this week in SF. It's been a while since I've been at the Civic, a place I have a long and varied history spanning 46 years. It'll be good to get back into the heavy rock 'n roll energy that place creates.
Last night's show was the best of the run and in my top five Phish shows of all time. Highlights were the jams in Sigma Oasis and Twist. Deep, dark, and funky. The Oye Como Va instrumental out of Boogie On was fun too. Place was packed to rafters and everyone was having a blast. Seemed like the whole town was out.
...and I scored a $50 reserved seat outside MODA Center, not to mention free parking across street from the parking garage, sweet! Sat with complete strangers and saw friends from afar running around but never connected, c'est la vie.
Was an interesting show musically and agree, Portland was raging last night... but I did skip the after parties... took the day off and heading up the gorge for a hike now that the sun is out again.
That Fall 99 tour was so fun. The 9-9-99 Vancouver show? Remember Portland had a heady Bathtub Gin and a raucous Run Jim at some point. Reminded me of that last west coast tour where James Brown opened for the GD in Portland. That day was HOT and I remember being young and bummed Jerry didn't sit in...
Tomorrow starts my 5 phish shows in 7 days California run.
Super fucking stoked! I love the BGCC so much and honestly believe that if Chase Center was available they would have played there instead.
The Hollywood Bowl in 23 was like a psychedelic family picnic for me with super cool people all around. Strangely enough i spoke to more than a few seatmates and many were only going to a single show
as opposed to the entire run. Love reading the reviews! Have a great time if you go!
I was happy to have made it last night. I was feeling like seven small pieces of shit all day and was considering bailing entirely, but I rallied and did what I've been doing often lately with bands that play two long sets, showing up late in the first set.
That bypasses all the crowds, lines and other annoyances, just walk right up and right in, settle into a spot and catch 20 minutes or so of the first set. Then enjoy the set break and get the full second set, which with many if not most bands is the heavier set. Sure, I risk missing some great music, but I've seen a lot of great music and in my old age this approach has been working just fine, and it did again last night.
Most of the song choices weren't personal favorites but it didn't matter, as as least in the moment the entire second set seemed like one long, intertwining, deep, dark jam, which is exactly how I like my Phish. I'm not sure but I don't think they stopped once, just seamlessly flowing from one theme to another.
They also seem to be giving their encores more serious time and treatment, as opposed to the usual quick-hitter and out style that they used to usually do, which I really like. I have no problem with the second set being a little shorter and getting more serious play during the encore.
Overall I had a great time and I'm really glad I went. I'm planning on doing the same thing tonight.
BTW, the Civic was absolutely PACKED last night. I've been attending and working shows in that venue for over 46 years and I have never seen it as full. If you're going tonight, be prepared for that.
I'll be at the Hollywood Bowl on Saturday. It's been a while since I've seen them, need to recharge my Phish brain :-) ...very much looking forward to this one. If anyone wants to say hi or mini zoner gathering somewhere at the venue send me email or post here. I'll be in the back center section s.
I went to see the Phish and holy mother of God was last night ever an all-timer!
SET 1: Simple -> Punch You in the Eye > Gumbo > Reba, The Well > David Bowie, Character Zero
SET 2: Sample in a Jar > Tweezer > Lonely Trip, Crosseyed and Painless > Pillow Jets, You Enjoy Myself
ENCORE: Wading in the Velvet Sea, First Tube
Set 1 Punch you in the Eye did exactly that. The REBA was sublime, the Well had a big fat outro jam and David Bowie was sick as always. And the Character Mother Fucking Zero!@ Trey!!!!!
All of set 2 was just non-stop melty jamming. I felt in the Tweezer Trey was nodding to the SF/classic bands. There eas a distinctive Jingo Ba Jam, a Slipknot inspired Jam, heard some Foolish Heart, a solid one way out jam along with some plain old big fat juicy grooves that only Phish lays down Cross Eyed and Painless was absolutely over the top - best one I ever saw them play. YEM was a masterpiece as always and Velvet Sea always invokes the feel of a Jerry ballad which was sweet and the First Tube thew the knockout punch.
Best Phis show I've seen in ten years, hands down.
China Rider, I'm in section S tonight too, light green hat with a teen, come say 'high'! But don't mention the Zone, I don't need my kid joining my DBMB, he'd learn way too much about me!
We had a blast last night! It was a nice mix of older and newer songs and the sound in our section was excellent. It was my first time experiencing the audience participation during The Howling, wasn't sure what was going on lol. I was with someone who was seeing Phish for the first time and wanted to hear their "big hit", apparently that was Farmhouse :-). Afterwards she said she could check off seeing a jam band live and "that last encore was really good".
The more I looked the more people with green hats I saw, but unfortunately not the right one. Sorry we missed you Jackohearts, I hope you had a good show!
your trip is short GTTS!
PHISH, SATURDAY 04/26/2025
HOLLYWOOD BOWL
Hollywood, CA
SET 1: Runaway Jim, Blaze On, Martian Monster > Birds of a Feather, 555, Divided Sky, Ether Edge > The Squirming Coil
SET 2: AC/DC Bag > Life Saving Gun> The Howling > Oblivion -> Run Like an Antelope, Beneath a Sea of Stars Part 1 > Everything's Right
ENCORE: Taste, About to Run, Slave to the Traffic Light
What an impressive show at a great venue. Sorry I missed you China Rider, I got in right before music and posted up in a different (better) section, never even made it to S. There was lots of newer stuff that I was not as familiar with but all of it was pretty fantastic. Sound and lights were on point. The second set ran out of steam a little after Antelope, but the long encore was right what the doctor ordered. This band is just about as good as they have ever been and it was great to be back. My kid was very impressed, he's well steeped in the Dead scene but this animal has that "youthful" energy. He wants to go back, for sure.
And, in this day of corporate live music, the anarchic wookery on Shakedown was actually, kind of welcome. Like old times. Even though that's not my scene, and the N20 was quite out of hand, oh well.
What a laughable joke that scene continues to be, and what an excellent back-handed honor for Phish, who has done things no other rock band has ever done, all the while overcoming many of the same serious setbacks that ruined many other bands..... but no! They never sold lots of the hallowed music industry's lone true product, RECORDS! So OUT with the Phish!
In actual fact, the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame has absolutely nothing to do with rock 'n roll.
It's all about the Sales & the Suits. Neither of which has anything to do with rock 'n roll.
One of Jerry Garcia's MANY most shining moments was blowing off that music industry faux shit-show.

I was happy to have made it
I was happy to have made it last night.

I went to see the Phish and
I went to see the Phish and holy mother of God was last night ever an all-timer!

We had a blast last night!

What an impressive show at a
What an impressive show at a great venue.
GTTS folks.

Even though they won the Fan
Even though they won the Fan Vote resoundingly, Phish was once again snubbed by the critics who vote for the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame:
2025 inductees:

- The White Stripes
Musical Influence

Maybe they'll play a jammed-out cover of the Velvet Underground's "Rock & Roll" at their next show?

What a laughable joke that
VERY good for them.
Atta' boy Jerry.
Phish don't need no Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame.
Rock 'n roll don't need no hall of fame.
