Can't believe this was 45 years ago. I went to a Blue Oyster Cult concert around this time and there were probably 25 Disco Sucks banners flying in the Boston Garden, and of course all the people who said Shakedown was a Disco Album. Has there ever been anything like this since or before.

Saw the Baseball Project
Saw the Baseball Project (Mike Mills and Peter Buck of REM's baseball themed punk rock side band) open for Wilco last year and they did a song about the Disco Demolition Night at Comiskey Park.
Popular music is so fragmented these days that its hard to image another genre like disco becoming such a thing and then crashing and burning so quickly.

I was living in Chicago that summer. Steve Dahl was the king of mornings on AM radio, and Disco Demolition Night made him a hero for a lot of young people.

I remember the night Jerry
I remember the night Jerry played The Stone on Broadway in San Francisco, and across the street at the Mabuhay Gardens, Blue Oyster Cult played a stealth show (billed as Soft White Underbelly).
Some BOC fans drove by while Jerry's Kids were lined up to go inside The Stone and heckled us.
"Soft White Underbelly!"
