Used to watch the 'WWF' show
Used to watch the 'WWF' show mid-seventies before it became all Disneyfied. "Animal" was always guaranteed to chew up a corner turnbuckle or whatever the stuffed cushions on the ropes are called. Back then it was Bruno SanMartino, Haystacks Calhoun, Chief J. Strongbow, Ivan Putski (Polish Power) & Lou Albano as "manager".
RIP "Animal".

George was by far & away my
George was by far & away my favorite wrestler.
Such athletic tecniques. Biting the turnbuckle with his teeth and using the stuffing as a weapon. Very impressive.
Sticking out his green tongue was also way cool.
Interviews with him were also very informative. He could occasionally manage to utter a word or two, with one of them usually being "Duh-da-dahh" or "YOU! YOU go!".
As for his skill level, he wrestled Bruno Sammartino to an hour-long draw at Madison Square Garden. Unfortunately he lost the rematch.
He was also a true romantic. His most famous feud was in 1986 against "Macho Man" Randy Savage, after he developed a crush on Savage's valet, Miss Elizabeth.
