I believe horns was a David Crosby song called Tamalpais High (At About 3).   On the If Could I Only Remember My Name album, what the horns played is hummed vocals.

Based only on the stream, not bad overall, but I'm still waiting for the Goose guy to really take me somewhere, and those horns.......... for me they mostly just dumb the sound down, and damn it Graham, your guitar playing is fine, but the singing......

Just ouch.

For the love of god, lose that vibrato BS!

Still, all my take is based on the stream, and as always.....

You have to be in the room to really know, so what the fuck do I know.

I hope all those in the room had a blast.

As always....

LONG LIVE PHIL LESH!!!!

LONG LIVE THE GRATEFUL DEAD!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the heads up on the song, I just played that album (and the various versions), recognized it, but couldn't place a name.

I love the horns as a vocal section, but they haven't been getting much solos...

Kind of a slow hand night vs fast and furious as far as solos are going

Anyone score an extra poster? Big D Crosby fan here and would love a copy given the tributes played

The acoustics and audio mix in the "ballroom" were impressive....can't wait to listen to this show with headphones.

Besides Graham's vibrato, Natalie had a solo that I didn't care for in set 2.

Overall, it was a happy, dancing audience.

Looking forward to tonight.

Fishcane... there is a poster with a buddha (Concious Alliance) and then the merch posters in pic below... let me know which one you are seeking and I may be able to help ya out...I only bought the buddha poster due to pricing, frankly.

Hey there, Thanks for the reply.... id take any but if there is a Buddha poster still available, it's gorgeous. Drop me a line at [email protected]

Will connect by email.

Is it possible to mail poster tubes? Never done that before.

^Yes - it's ez & cheap via USPS

^^^^This is a non-official, Fan-Made print on demand product

sketchy is ya ask me

also, Biffle misspelled Grahame on that Buddha poster

Lance, weren't you giving me shit a couple of weeks ago for bagging on Grahame? I have to wonder what's changed.

Yeah those poster print sites are a scam

A guy with a Russian accent was selling those posters in the parking lot. Glad I did not get one as it would have been puked on by my neighbor.

>>>>Yeah those poster print sites are a scam

Biffle has AP print$ on his site.
He has sent a cease and desist to chocolate drop.

Thanks, I was not aware those were scammy.

Virtual lot, lol.

>>Lance, weren't you giving me shit a couple of weeks ago for bagging on Grahame? I have to wonder what's changed<<<

Nothing's changed. You were bagging on Grahame as a not worthy to play with Phil guitar player, which especially as a rhythm player is fake news. People just need to get over the name. If the same playing was coming from many other more acceptable/bigger name players everyone would be fine with it (which could open a whole other conversation about how people listen/what we choose to hear).

I was bagging specifically on his singing, which in fairness to Grahame isn't terrible, it's just that in this particular band (and almost all Phil bands) there are just too many other superior options.

Still, for me singing is the least important ingredient in a Phil/Grateful Dead recipe, so Grahame isn't a deal-breaker for me, especially when there is a real top quality lead guitar player also involved, something I've witnessed personally many, many times at the clubhouse.

But oh, that reedy vibrato, especially on the Weir songs....

Sigh.

which especially as a rhythm player is fake news.<<<<

Post one single clip of Grahame Lesh doing something interesting with a guitar. I'd love to hear it.

> You were bagging on Grahame as a not worthy to play with Phil guitar player, which especially as a rhythm player is fake news.

That statement itself is fake news. Let's go to the tape, shall we? Here's what I posted: "I see people post that his chops have improved--and, really, why shouldn't they have?--but for me, that doesn't mean he's fit to front his dad's band."

There's no criticism of his guitar playing there, but yeah, I don't see him as a worthy front man, meaning lead vocalist, for Phil's band. It's the vibrato, it's the forced sound of not singing in his natural range, and it's not just on Weir songs. His vocals on Crazy Fingers especially, but on other Garcia songs as well, just grate on me.

>>>>>I'm still waiting for the Goose guy to really take me somewhere

goose Lucy ain't lance delight?

Clear the whole left side of the stage, Rick, Jason, and Grahame if you must, in that order.

(see ya'll at the Cap next month cheeky)
