Lot's of great history of the LSD scene from the maker himself.

Was it as good as they say?

Thanks for the link, looks interesting ... although don't have the time to listen at the moment.

The first thing I think of when hearing a name associated with LSD is how it can be misleading ... since it's either the chemical compound, or it's something else.  However, in the description, it claims to be 99.99% pure.  If so, why the need to create a label such as "orange sunshine" (needlepoint, etc.)?   This isn't really a commentary on OS itself (I have no reason to believe it's not essentially pure), but rather about the marketing trend that we see nowadays to push whatever it is someone might be selling as a "better" form of the substance when in fact LSD = LSD = LSD.

< Was it as good as they say ?

< Yes

Fuck Yes

The Sunshine I remember came as a little orange barrel that could be split 4 ways and it'd send you to those special places for at least 24 hrs. Mind expansion like you've never experienced before mixed with super sonic visuals of ants dancing and dragon flys going by like slow jetliners with looooooong vapor trails and pictures posters and the walls they were hanging on would melt into a puddle at your feet. God connection made.

Yeah it was good stuff man, the best I ever did.

>>>>The Sunshine I remember came as a little orange barrel that could be split 4 ways

My experience as well.

I usually ate a whole one.

....1/4 of a barrel - or even the whole one - would have a person steaming through the cosmos for 24 hrs?

More like 18 hrs. from drop to able to sleep.

18 - 24  then it took ya another day or 2 to get all your marbles back in the bag. That experience lingered.

It really was the best L ever, no paranoia no weird stomach issues, just exactly right. I had issues with every other acid I did, except LSD 25, that was a good one too. But window pane, purple micro-dot , a few others were weak sauce compared to Orange Sunshine

Then of course I knew folks who liked it too much, did way too much, and ended up living under their basement stairs afraid of the world.

Everything in moderation.

I read Jerry was taking a lot in 78.

I remember the barrels, the micro dots , the Window Panes but I'm not sure if I was old enough for the actual OS.

Raz, may I ask your age?

From what I perceive the 25 label was the one that worked. The 24 didn't work and there was no 26.

I always got a kick when someone said ," It's LSD 25!"

>Raz, may I ask your age?<

Since Raz was personal friends with Jesus, he's about 2022 years old give or take.

they should make some more.

The sugar cube and numerous kinds of blotter was just ok too, but that OS, they sure don't make em like that no more

63 brother

Same age. We are too young for the OS.

^ this is basically what I was kind of getting at about names.   Analogously, pure water is always going to be H2O no matter what.  If it's carbonated, it's a different chemical structure.  If there are contaminants, it's water + other stuff.

Getting back to OS, that's awesome that you and others have a "baseline" of purity that can at the very least be loosely corroborated.  I've always felt the first trip I took 34 years ago was the real deal and use it as my yardstick.  From practical experience over the years, I think it was a pretty decent measure, but how can I ever know for sure without having known the chemist or the specific chemicals / process used?  In light of the amount of RC's and types of speed that are cut into things, I suspect it's far more challenging nowadays for those starting out to genuinely know with any level of certainty what they're trying ... and in turn, might be totally off base in their assumptions of the true nature of the substance.

More and more these days, LSD analogues sold as LSD muddy that picture considerably.

I am even younger by an approximate decade or so but feel really lucky/satisfied to have had some great L, circa 88-91 in particular, with the big stand-out being a nearly full vial (in a plastic McCormick food coloring vessel) that was ground-scored at '89 Alpine Valley. Holy Smokes!! I don't know (or care) what happens these days but I would be super skeptical at best, given the conditions and players that seem to be prevailing.

>63 brother / Same age<

Jaz and Ras - I did notice a certain level of juvenile delinquency in you two kids.

[I was that age once.... two weeks ago. Just celebrated my Beatles birthday on the Jersey shore of all places. First time I've seen the ocean in a while. Supposedly I was in the closest-to-the-ocean brewery on the East Coast, which I find hard to believe but that's what the sign said. Took a quick trip around Cape May, which was pretty scenic -- all he Victorians reminded me of San Francisco.]

In th early 70s the older kids talked about OS but I don't remember any in our jr /sr high school.

Here's to good health and creaky bones!

Yes, without having a full understanding of what is out there, I kind of implicitly / loosely lumped analogs into the larger cauldron of RC's ... which might be unfair.  Had to look up functional analog to understand.

I will be your age next month, Alan. Orange Sunshine was established as legendary status when I was in *high~ school.

Looks like the modern chemists are taking the fun outta acid:

LSD-like compounds may have antidepressant effect without hallucinations

  • Previous studies have shown that psychedelic drugs such as LSD (acid) and psilocybin (magic mushrooms) may potentially treat depression but can cause disturbing hallucinations in some cases.
  • Researchers recently developed two novel compounds that target the same subtype of serotonin receptors as LSD and psilocybin but do not produce hallucinations.
  • Like psychedelic substances, these novel compounds showed antidepressant and anti-anxiety effects in animal models at lower doses than Prozac.

I am shocked. Shocked!

,hey thar was my gf's vial... cool ground score, true 88 thru 92 had some pretty clean and potent liquid flowing around, I never wanted to know where exactly it was coming from we had one on the europe 90 tour ... we used to macradose often
