Do you ever see Bill Walton at a Phil & Friends shows

Forums:

You see him at Dead & Co. shows.

Does this count? I stood next to him and his sweetie Lori in 2010 at BGCC for Phil's 70th, and I wasn't even wearing any Trail Blazer gear... they were very kind.  Killer show.

Also have a photo of him at Fare Thee Well Santa Clara --- he was just 10 feet or so in front of me.

i saw him a ton at furthur shows and txr. it would always kinda blow my dad's mind when i would casually mention something like having to move areas so im not standing right behind bill walton

I've seen him at GD shows, Phil shows, and at a Bob Dylan show in LA a couple of months ago.

Not only was I sitting a few rows behind him at Paolo Soleri in 2007, but wound up getting that same seat for the Ratdog show a couple months later.

First time I ran into him was at The Spectrum in 1987 the same night The 76ers were playing in Boston. I see him in SD a fair bit since he goes to a lot of the local shows I go to.

In 2021 he played bongos and made the set lists for Electric Waste Band for their Sunday noon-3pm gigs at Aquarius Bar & Grill . He added nothing to the music.

I have not seen him at a Phil & Friends show that I recall.

///////.

Elongated ellipsis right angle bracket slash slash slashes period.

He was often at TxR, especially in the earlier years, and I've seen him at the larger Phil shows when he used to tour and play bigger venues.

But he's closest with the drummers, especially Mickey, and I think he & Weir are buddies as well, so I think he gravitates to shows with them.

I also think he likes being seen in the big scene, and whatever one may think of D$C they're certainly high profile.

Damn, judit. Such colorful language.

I couldn't hold back any longer, mike.

Yeah, definitely a presence at Furthur shows, but I haven't seen him at a Phil show in a hot minute... I'm not going to speculate about his tastes or his friends though, I got no info...

I got bumped and spilled a beer all over him in the pit at LA Greek Furthur. He was cool about it. His wife was super cute and danced hard.

We partied with her on a plane to the GD Ventura shows in 1987. Bill's wife, and all the Celtics wives for that matter! An epic story it is!!

Last time in Hartford 86 or so - down in front you freakishly tall bastard !!

We sang happy birthday to Bill at the Worcester Centrum on 11/05/85.

At a P+F show ? No

Only at a grateful dead show can he get away with being all big down front. Dead acid brains don't even notice.

Phil fans would take that ginormous sumbitch down !@!
