Nice!

Lesser banjo:band ratio!laugh

I kid; I kid.

Kinda.

And a kid from Corvallis Oregon does good!

Best possible thing that could happen to this group.

And nothing against the group as it was, but...

IMO, a fiddle in bluegrass/acoustic music is essential, a fiddle makes the bluegrass sing!

NOW I'm interested in this group.

I'll never be interested in this group lol d'oh

If you're gonna play in Texas

You gotta have a fiddle in the band

Poor Jilly.  Whatcha got against superhuman talent?

Assuming he is related to tatiana hargreaves (the fiddler) from corvallis?

Assuming Billy will continue trailblazing the Rock/Bluegrass Fusion path, I'd like to see him cover some of the Zappa violin material when Frank worked with Jean-Luc Ponty and Sugarcane Harris.  For starters, Willie The Pimp from Hot Rats would be fun to hear from this band.

Right on. Adding a drummer would be ok too

Alex was frequently in Chris Thile's house band on Live From Here (post-Keillor Prairie Home Companion).  Good fit.

Jill, go to one of his shows. I double-dog dare you. You will fall in love all over again.

I'm just not a bluegrass gal /:

I don't question his talent. He seems aa much a natural as a  young Derek Trucks was.

Music simply not my cuppa

Ditto such faves as: RRE

Also not bluegrasssmiley.

Thanks for posting that second one, Zooey. Could understand it a lot better. What a treat to see.

I wasn't a bluegrass guy, but Billy is something else. Sure, they start things off in bluegrass mode, but for a lot of tunes, they jam them out to the stars.

Billy has been heard saying, (I paraphrase), "It's not 1938 anymore", with the meaning that blue-grass needs to evolve.  And so, he helps it become a psychedelic blue-grass jam.  Here is an interesting interview on his sound equipment.

ok, he refers to 1946, not 1938.  My bad.

If it's not 1946, it's also not 1938. You're good.
