I'm excited, I'm going, Moses and Jack are going, anyone else? At the small Soreng Theater at the Hult Center; it's sold out.
My reviews are always lacking in details, so I'll probably say something like, "It was so sweet, so amazing, great stories, great music, I love those guys." We'll see.

Thanks for the joy!
I've gone to see my friends play in and around Eugene (good band, fun to dance to) during the past few years, but other than that I think the last show I went to was at TXR in 2018 or '19.

Very lucky to be there. Jack
Very lucky to be there. Jack and Jorma were so happy with the room and the sound, that made all of us happy, too. The room holds almost 500 people and it started out full. It has perfect line of sight and is pretty perfect. There were some empty seats for the second set.
Moses said it was "the show of the year". He goes to quite a bit of music around here, and it was nice that he was wowed, too.
The sound is stellar, warm, deep, clean, they said it was perfect for them. They started on time at 7:30, played for an hour, took about a half-hour break, then played til 10. While they played a lot of familiar old favorites, nothing was called in - they were having a good time playing. They also played a couple of songs I didn't know, that was fun, too.
Jack took a lot of long solos, especially in the second set, leaving us in awe and Jorma as happy as we were. He said something about that. I've had a crush on Jack since 1969 and there's no reason to change that. I love lead bass players and Jack knows how to do it.
The point is that they were Hot Fucking Tuna and we were very happy about it. I'm so glad I went.

...I think Jack confused
...I think Jack confused Jorma a bit in the first set.....and me, as well!
It's wonderful to hear acoustic, without the need of ear plugs. I really appreciated that.
And so great to see them live; I really appreciate the fur peace ranch shows during covid.

Nice that you were there,
Nice that you were there, KeseyB.
The Fur Peace Ranch Quarantine series was a lot of how I got through those years and tonight was right in line. I would have liked it if John Hurlbut were there, too, maybe, but I'm happy with things as they are.
I noticed that there were very few people around me wearing masks. In fact I might have been the only one in my area. I hope everyone will be well.

Damn, that's a fine set list. Sorry I missed it due to my "no indoor shows this summer" decision.
Hoping to be able to hear it after the fact.

Sorry I did not seek you out,
Sorry I did not seek you out, Judit! We got there just in time....
I donned a colorful mask, turquoise and white, whilst Matt chose not to wear one....alas, what can one do? He tires having worn one for over a year 40 plus hours/week.
I was happy to avoid my R-balcony seat during the second set, and mime-dance by the back wall. The first set was a nice slow set, easy to merely shake in my seat, the second set required a bit more movement....good to keep the capillaries flowing well!
We snuck out rapidly after the last song, and I was telling Matt: the age Jorma was when I first saw him was double my age at the time; I was 24, he would've been 48...that only happens once!
The drive home, we felt lke the only ones on the road....I always appreciate that, too!

Really nice to see (just)
Really nice to see (just) Jack and Jorma last night. It occurred to me that in probably a dozen of so shows/configurations, I had never seen them together, without some third wheel getting in the way. No drums, no mandolin, no special guests, just hot MF tuna. And a Genesis encore made it all pretty much perfect.
I have had this record since I was around ten years old, curb scored in the 80's. They weren't meeting with any fans last night, but their bus driver helped me out a little. (Ok, a lot.)

I thought you and I saw just
I thought you and I saw just the two of them at the McDonald once, but maybe that was an electric show with drums. I saw them acoustic on their own there once, but I forget when.
Sounds like a special night for you.
(I wish I knew what happened to my Volunteers album. It could be one of the ones my friend "borrowed" and never returned.

The two of them playing
I now remember Kimock was there. The two of them playing acoustic is my favorite thing. And the sound and intimate feeling of the Soreng - wow! I'd do it again. And again.

I'm glad you enjoyed the show
I'm glad you enjoyed the show, those octogenarians are still going strong. So special to get the Genesis encore, maybe he plays that more on the road since it's a favorite, but it's just once in a while at Fur Peace Ranch.
