Phil Lesh immediately comes to mind when I think of Bluegrass

lol strawbud

Telluride in June sounds sweet, but I don't know if I can swing that.

Maybe he'll break out the upright.cheeky

Like Tenacious D ?

I would bet that Tenacious D could pull off a better Fake Bluegrass than PLF

It's never strictly "Bluegrass" ... they're not sticklers.

The Tibetan Monks with Phil would be cool to see -- that lineup is all over the place, kind of like JRAD at String Summit.

Ima gonna guess this is a one-off show, and Phil will wait until September for the Colorado mini-tour like last year :)

^ it still very well could be, but the Frost announcement might indicate more is in the works for early summer.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ferg negotiated a deal for Lyons again.

Paging FOM, check your email.

Does anyone know what the lineup is for this show????

Face: Phforecast 90% chance of WHITE CLOUD for Telluride Bluegrass Festival ~heart  ....+Stu,Hair,Holly. since Gov't Mule playing for our own Mike @Libbey Bowl that night. (Have a great show brother, stoked to read about it afterwards!)

MT= Allen, Grahame, Bowling, Molo

July 1= Haynes, Scofield, Medeski, Molo

July 4= Menear, Pardini, Bluhm, Goldsmith(s)

(Now i think i need to make an emergency road-trip given might be my last chance to see a couple of my musical heroes.)

for you Festival vets several questions please:  1.Odds of me finding single ticket to buy on scene?  2.On-street legal (free) parking several miles away?  3. Post-encore im starting drive back in dark until im tired along CO-145 between Telluride & Delores.  If pull-over at some primitive off-highway spot to catch some sleep in car how likely do you think "How we doing this evening?" LEO chat?

Pull farther off the highway if you don't want the 3 o'clock knock.

You can legally camp in a national forest (unless posted otherwise, and not in an actual "campground") for 14 days.

no idea about tickets and parking but have fun!

What Bss said, plus BLM lands tend to be even looser about things like camping than NFS lands.

...playing Bluegrass!!!

FP:  I suspect you're right about lineup possibilities, but find it interesting how we're only days away without an official announcement ... so while I believe you're likely correct in your prediction, I can't help but hold out hope and cross both fingers and toes for something like:

As for your questions:   things look like they've changed to a full-on buyer's market, but who knows how it'll evolve or how the single Sunday ticket will fair out in the larger mix of people looking for 4-day passes.  There are too many variables for me to offer any reliable insight, but it sure does look flooded with tickets at the moment.   Here's the official Telluride festival general discussion page:

Here's the page for telluride tix buy/sell (you might have to register to even see it):

I sold my 4-day pass for $250 ($310 was face) a few days ago after deciding to go to Boulder for D&C ... although I still have a single Sunday, but will likely hang out at box office to see if a 4-day shakes loose for $100-$150 to use for today and Sun (and unload my single Sunday ticket).  Otherwise, plan is to listen to Rowns from the outside venue (excellent for this) and head out partway to front range immediately afterward.

You won't be able to get your vehicle into the town limits without a county sticker or barricade pass, but you can park for free up in the Mountain Village and ride the gondola down into town.  It'll add about 45-60 minutes on each trip to and fro.

I actually camped at a dispersed camping area on NF land known as "Boggy Draw" just outside of Dolores a couple weeks ago after the Dolores River Festival.  It's about 10-15 minutes up and out of the center of Dolores.  Here's one page (with coords near top):

https://www.campendium.com/school-section-reservoir

You can drive several miles past above coord to find any open spot within 300' of designated roads.  It's a very cool Ponderosa Pine forest.

There are several other spots on public lands on route:

Closer to Telluride, there's a spot people car camp regularly and never get bothered only about a 1/10 of a mile from the Ophir turn off (before tiny post office building).   You can see the little pull-out:

Hopefully, you'll make it ... feel free to get in touch.
