Phil/ Cuthbert Sturday Roll Call/ Concerns..

Forums:

1. Rusty, rollin' down from Corntown, good chance of rain, covid, but who knows, this could be the last time.

1. Rusty, rollin' down from Corntown, good chance of rain, covid, but who knows, this could be the last time.

2. Surfdead and the Mrs.  Rain should be mostly done by showtime. Check Cuthbert site for a long list of no-nos. Clear plastic bags only, and other assorted nonsense. We'll be on the lower lawn near the middle.

Was planning to, but driving two hours in the rain to spend another three hours listening a pickup band in the rain probably might not happen.

Yes, this could be the last time.

I will be there and have a campsite at Armitage Park on the outskirts of town a few miles from the venue.   Forecast calls for "showers" I can't imagine it being anything like the deluge at Furthur in 2010.

What? it's raining STILL in Oregon?
It was raining when I left last Friday, sigh.

I am bringing an EZ-Up for the campsite.   As Llollo noted in the other threat, there is still a tent site left at Armitage Park (4.8 miles from the venue) if anyone is interested.

So no Midnight North opener, right?  Rather hang in the lot. yomv. Kid kinda' creeps me out

Isn't there ONE day in July when it's never rained in W. OR?

We call that Summer.

For the past 20 or 30 years it rained til July 5th but the last couple of years have been different. Yes, climate change.

In the '70s and '80s it rained almost all summer. No ripe tomatoes, so a lot of us didn't even plant any. Now, who can tell.

The forecast discussion is a little too complicated and jargony to share, and the models haven't been agreeing much lately anyway...  suffice it to say,

there'll be bands of showers coming thru all weekend, fortunately the strongest waves are not forecast for Saturday (perhaps Saturday night, again, models not agreeing).

There's some satisfaction in the Phil in Eugene rain.  No matter what comes down the song remains the same.

Judit, are you coming down to the show?

Hi, Ken. I think not.

For some reason I'm not drawn to it. I'd love to see y'all and other friends, and I'd love to see and hear Phil, but just not feeling it.

The forecast I use (Weather Underground app, optimized for local conditions) shows 15-20 % chance of showers during show time, with big lumps of rain before and after.

No guarantees.

Hope you change your mind, Judit. This COULD be the last time - I don't know.

3. Canyon & Lisa...

Rain outlook better - should be dryish from about noon to midnite - chance of precip around 10-15%.

Rainiest spring since I moved here 5 years ago. One of our gigs canceled last Saturday  :-(

No spot taken. Have a good show ya'll.    I'll be at Govt MULE in Bend on Thursday. Hope we won't need snow tires.

And it's just a box of rain.  Or a ribbon for for your hair. Such a long long time to be gone and a short time to be there.

See you tonight brave and intrepid freeks who aren't afraid of getting your hair wet.

Is that a call-out?

okay then I'm going

i'm going to seattle. it's gonna rain. weather report suite.

Bss, I was just thinking of you. I met HeyDavey and his very lovely lady friend at Hideaway. I miss seeing you.

I just realized particle dude is playing tonight.  Fingers crossed for a stream, go Phil!

Have fun, freaks.

Streaming????

Nevermind.

Well that was super duper big time fun. Thank you Phil!!

^I'm glad that you two were able to go to the show.

Wish that I had taken the trek.

Safe travels

That was good + fun.

Saw a couple of clips from the show on FB when I got home tonight, looked like one helluva time!
(I did get to see 5 bands in the last 24 hours, all of it original, except my old friends in a dead cover band)

Long live the Phil!

Woke up this morning at 5 as usual, after getting home at 12:30 last night.

Great show!!!

Actually one of the most enjoyable and pleasurable shows I've seen with a GD member since Jerry passed.

And I've seen a bunch of them.

Second set Help>Slip>DS>Unbroken>Slip>Franklins was pretty sweet.

Weather report - light occasional showers first set, dry or almost dry second set.

Graham shredding like he owned the place. Ensemble playing and vocal harmonies were top shelf. Phil loud and in charge. Tony clanking those cymbals ala Kreutzman.

Didn't meet any Zoners but I hope you all had as much fun as I did.

Love IS real - Not Fade Away.

Sweet setlist!

Was that a rockin' Ripple?

Looks Noice !

Yup - a rockin, slightly reggaeified Ripple.

Not my pic. Found this on Reddit.

I can't see if there were tapers from that picture, I hope so.

Here's a link to the original pic, which is fairly huge.

I'm not seeing mic stands where you might expect to see them, but I have to believe someone taped this show.

Thx Mike.

That's was soooo much fun last night. My two teenage daughters join my wife and I, which made it extra special.

Thank's to DeaHeadLandTV for Photos:y_0.jpg

Sorry I missed ya Surfdead!

Not surprisingly, Particle dude stretched the sound in new ways.

All night I could hear teases of Shakedown, thinking they might continue the short one from Frost... but maybe Seattle will get it.

They also didn't finish the Dark Star.

Just woke up in my tent and the heavy rain is back for the day.

Have fun, Seattle!

Unbroken Chain.... wholey toledoe! audio links! ... svp

Today, I wish I'd felt like going to Phil and Friends at Cuthbert last night. Oh well.

Looks like videoer was right behind us. Big fun.

Yeah, that was probably the best Unbroken Chain I have ever seen.  Second set included a lot of deep, heavy jams, but they were jams with a purpose (no musical wankery).   Surprised how good this lineup sounded and Particle Dude really added some color and flavor.

Phil should have Stu Allen at al of his shows.

Fun night

So good to see Molitz back in the lineup!  If he's in the band later this summer, here's hoping they bring back Elevator Jam!!!!!!

Audio ? vids ? really want to hear this shoe, specially That Cosmic...

Thanks Noodler

where's Cosmic Charlie.... really ... no tapers?

I can not believe no one pulled that Dark Star>Unbroken Chain(the entire 2nd set, honestly) It was truly a a thing of wonder and beauty. An all-timer for this old Lesh lush...

Saw a couple of tapers huddled behind the sb but they never took their gear out - too wet?

>>>>>It was truly a a thing of wonder and beauty. An all-timer for this old Lesh lush.

Yes it was.

Hey Phil Time for an official release... I'm buyin!

Just got some intel from Seattle taper buddy: A different taper by the name of Steve seems to be the only person who recorded  Cuthbert from the sbd pole.

He doesn't upload to LMA, but has a friend help out with that.

Taper buddy has begun a chain of reminders, so hopefully I'll get a link to share out soon.

Thx Christine.  Can't wait!!!

thanks noodler... been waiting to hear that Cosmic Charlie, Sweetness

Finally!!!

I had given up ... was checking weekly for awhile.

Thanks Noodler!

Nice, listening to this today for sure!

Thx Noodler.  Real fine of you.

This.

I'm listening to it right now!

Sounds OK - lacking some mid-range though.

Thanks, Ohr, too. I don't torrent, but for those who do...

Thanks Ohr, I saw your post and had to check if it was on archive as well, it was, woot!!!

Thanks Judit & Noodler, but the real thanks goes to Keith the taper and JT who tracked and uploaded the show.  The funny thing is that someone I don't really know asked yesterday for the fifth time in the last few months where he could get a recording of the show.  I knew Keith had taped it so I sent him a text yesterday and he said he had given it to JT to take care of.  Apparently it fell through the cracks and JT had forgotten about it but within 2 hrs it was up on etree but files were still being processed on archive when I posted the link.  By the way, Keith said that the sound guy at Cuthbert helped him get the microphones clamped on the center soundboard tent post.  Lesson learned- keep asking for the shows you're looking for.  We'll all be at the Cap soon for nine nights of Phil, but we never get to the zoner get togethers since we are permanently attached to our gear. At the Cap, we're always just to the right of the board.
