A couple of nights ago, I was checking out the cds at the Goodwill on 145th, when I found this one.
If my memory serves me right. some Zoners were (are?) in a band called The Republic; Lord Henry, Timmy Hoover, Furious E.
There are no performer or songwriter credits on the cd, so I'm not sure if this is the same band. It does say it was recorded in Seattle and produced by Jon Auer (notably, a member of The Posies and the rejuvenated Big Star). Couldn't find much other info about this release on the interwebs.
Does anyone know if this is the same band as the one with the Zoner participants?

Does it suck? If so, it's probably the zoners.
What's the best record you've found at a thrift store Dave? Figure you've probably found a few.
I found a really nice Japanese DSOTM with the OBI strip intact for a dollar once.

Glad to hear they're a different band. The one I found at Goodwill was pretty underwhelming. Couldn't make it past the third track. Hope I get a chance to see or hear the Zoner band some day.
As far as thrift store finds, my biggest sale was a Mono Beatles' Yesterday & Today with a peeled Butcher cover that I found in a Salvation Army in Eureka, California for 50 cents and sold for $400 in the first ten days my store was opened back in 2005.
Currently though, I have a rare private press 7" from a North Carolina group called The Soul Vibrations doing "The Dump". Beat up copies have been selling for $1500-2000. I found a NM- copy for 20 cents to a buck (I don't exactly remember where I got it, just that at the time it looked interesting and was cheap-I had no idea how valuable it was). I'm asking $2400 for my copy. I haven't been shipping overseas recently, but I may have to make an exception for this one, as the European collectors are the ones shelling out the bread for this rarity.
Here's what it sounds like if your curious:
